A day aboard HANSEATIC spirit! 🚢✨

Last week, our Voyage Consultant, Benedict had the opportunity to explore Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ adults-only expedition ship, HANSEATIC spirit, while she was docked at London’s Tower Bridge.

As the newest ship in the HANSEATIC expedition class, she certainly impressed! From the beautiful suites and fantastic dining to the spacious pool deck, relaxing spa and welcoming crew, there was plenty to admire 🧘‍♀️

One of Ben’s highlights? The glass-bottomed balcony, offering a unique view of the water below! 🌊

🇳🇴 There’s much more to MS Trollfjord than the incredible views.

Over three days, we got a real taste of Norway through the activities both onboard and ashore. We sampled local salmon, reindeer soup and Hardangerfjord c***r, learnt about the Northern Lights and Norway’s fjords, and even took part in Hurtigruten’s famous Ice Baptism. 🧊

In Kristiansand, we also stepped ashore to explore Norway’s WWII history at the Kristiansand Cannon Museum.

Food, history, traditions and plenty of laughs along the way. A brilliant few days discovering Norway from a completely different perspective.

🍽️ Eating our way around MS Trollfjord 🇳🇴

We tried all three restaurants onboard: Flora, Brasserie Árran and fine-dining restaurant Røst, with each offering a different taste of Norway.

Highlights included Norwegian salmon, Arctic char, halibut and some fantastic w**e pairings. Røst was particularly memorable, with a surprise five-course menu chosen by the chef and each dish introduced by the knowledgeable team.

Beautifully presented, full of flavour and a brilliant way to discover more of Norwegian cuisine.

🛏️ A look inside the cabins aboard Hurtigruten's MS Trollfjord 🇳🇴

With four cabin categories to choose from, there’s something for every style of Norwegian adventure, from cosy Polar Inside and Outside cabins to Arctic Superior cabins and spacious Expedition Suites.

We stayed in an Arctic Superior cabin, which had everything we needed for a comfortable few days onboard. For a little more space, the Expedition Suites feature a separate bedroom, lounge area and private balcony, perfect for taking in the fresh Norwegian air.

✨ Welcome aboard MS Trollfjord ✨

We’re currently sailing from Bergen to Oslo with Hurtigruten, and it’s been lovely getting to know the ship as we make our way along the Norwegian coast.

🥂 1893 Bar is a great spot to relax and take in the atmosphere
🛍️ The onboard shop has plenty of little souvenirs and local finds
🌅 The Panoramic Lounge is probably one of our favourite spaces so far, with floor-to-ceiling views across the coastline
🧖‍♀️ And the sauna is such a peaceful place to unwind while the scenery drifts past

MS Trollfjord feels warm, comfortable and very much designed around the destination, which makes the journey itself feel just as special as the places we’re visiting!

Back onboard EXPLORA III 🛳️

Yesterday, we spent the day aboard the newest ship from Explora Journeys, touring her beautiful suites, exploring the ship and enjoying lunch at Fil Rouge.

A few of our favourite spots had to be Fil Rouge, the Journeys Lounge and the Sky Bar. We also loved seeing the full-sized padel court onboard! 🎾
