Another successful transaction progressing at Aviator Aircraft Group.

We are pleased to confirm that this 2008 Cessna CJ1+ is now officially UNDER OFFER on behalf of our client.

Seventeen years ago, I sold my first aircraft — a 2001 Beechcraft King Air B200.

At the time, I was a 24-year-old figuring it out as I went along — equal parts excitement and nerves, and probably hanging on by my fingertips more than I’d like to admit. Looking back, it’s fair to say it was a lot of “learning on the job”… and a bit of blind optimism thrown in for good measure.

Aviator Aircraft Sales was little more than an idea back then — a hopeful vision built on ambition and persistence. But it was a start to what it is today.

It’s interesting to reflect on just how much has changed since those early days:

- No social media — no announcements, no noise, just quietly getting deals done

- No camera phones, I still on my desk is the Cannon Reflex EOS 1000D autofocus handheld camera (and it still works perfectly)

- Aircraft specifications were printed as brochures and posted out (yes, actually posted…) to prospective buyers

- LOIs and Aircraft Purchase Agreements were sent by fax — and that felt completely normal at the time

- Commissions felt different too, helped along by a much stronger GBP against the USD (close to $2 to £1)

What hasn’t changed, though, is the importance of relationships. The company that bought that very first aircraft is still a client today — and, more importantly, a great friend. Since 2009, we’ve gone on to complete over 25 transactions together solidifying our European to U.S Market bridge.

The tools, platforms, and pace of the industry may have evolved, but the fundamentals haven’t — trust, consistency, and a general will to get the job done

It’s always good to look back… if only to remind yourself how it all started.

Performing the closing stages is always an interesting moment. Time of intense activity followed by the “hurry up and wait” stage. Glad to be doing it with a good team of professionals.
