Our darling Dollar 🌟 2001 - 2025

Last week we said good bye to one of the very best horses that Regency has had the absolute pleasure of owning. It’s taken me a few days to have the courage to tell you all, I know he has a fan club!
This horse came to us as a gamble, cheap as chips and potentially not what we would need. He turned out to be the greatest of all time! 🐐
In 13 years with us he has been everywhere, done everything, seen the country, worked with all of our funeral directors, all of our other horses and been every which way in a team of 6. If Dollar couldn’t do it, no one could! 👑
He loved his poo pillows, his offside hind stain of all stains and hated being bathed more than any other white horse on this planet. He has had more chalk, hair bleach, toner, Daz white and Vanish Oxi action, even some ketchup thrown at him than anyone else too! 🫧
Dollar captured the hearts of our Regency family, the many grooms, funeral directors, arrangers, crematorium and cemetery staff, and families all over the country. He was our safe guy, our most trusted boy. I hope he knew how thankful we were for every snow day, every 2am start, every London traffic jam with drums and smoke flares! 🎆
If he wasn’t working, it was a sure bet he was laid out snoring like a train, usually propped up on his own poo pillow. If it was early morning, dark and cold, good luck catching him in the field! He is the reason our white horses work with ear veils.. we gave up the fight on what colour his ears should be and conversations about personal hygiene… 🧼
Dollar worked with everyone, but his main partners in crime over the years were Boyce and Oscar, Boyce is now in a lovely retirement home enjoying life as a pet, and Oscar, although slowed down, is still going strong with Boma.
Dollar retired 3 years ago after an injury and has enjoyed 3 years of blissful peace and absolutely no bathing! He has watched everyone go out to work with a knowing smirk on his face, slept all day and truly enjoyed a well deserved quiet life!
At 24 years old, although he was still the kind, happy soul that he always has been, his body said it was time to tell winter where to stick it!
He went eating a warm bran mash cake with all of his favourite things. 🥕🍬🍎
Thank you Dollar, for your service and for being the kindest most wonderful horse. You never owed us a thing and we owe you the world 🤍
