Workshop progress on the Cygnus build.

The fore deck is now taking shape, with the timber work, seams and detailing beginning to show the character of the boat.

Alongside this, work continues on the keel and stem band — practical details that play an important role in strength, protection and long-term use on the water.

It is steady, careful work: traditional marine craftsmanship, sound materials and every detail considered before the boat leaves the workshop.

Quiet progress in the workshop as the gunwale capping takes shape.

This stage brings together careful proportion, clean joinery and the kind of details that will settle beautifully as the timber tones down over time. From the scarf joints and keyways to the finishing around the prow, every part is being worked through with purpose.

There are still plugs, sanding and internal joinery details to follow, but the build is now moving past the capping and into the foredeck, bilge keels and next stages of steelwork.
