💥OUR PASS💥
🙏Please Please read if you have Children 18 or under and live Sk13 …🙏 why ?? Because at some point in the future this will save you Upto £2000 per child !
I guarantee it’s worth the read
What is the OUR PASS:
🎟️ it is a bus travel pass for school leavers aged 16-18 That entitles them to unlimited bus travel for 2 years across Greater Manchester when they first enrol in further education from leaving school . It costs just £10 for the full 2 years . THAT IS A ONE OFF PAYMENT of £10 FOR UNLIMITED BUS TRAVEL TO AND FROM COLLEGE AND TO ALSO USE SOCIALLY.
Why haven’t Glossop and the High Peak got this ?
🎟️ Because this is something Andy Burnham the Mayor of Manchester put in place for Greater Manchester and Tameside residents. Using the Greater Manchester Budget. SK14 residents are included but not SK13.
What’s been done to try and get this previous ?
🎟️ In previous years parents, schools in Derbyshire and the High Peak have wrote to the current MP asking for this to be extended to include SK13 and beyond in the High Peak. The result has always been a standard letter returned to them stating it is out of the budget and will not be possible.
🎟️The short history for us SK13 residents to be included ….
Last year I did the above sent an email to the MP and got the same standard letter others had received previously stating Nothing can be done ! I put. A status on these very groups on Facebook and in total received over 2000 likes, 500 private messages from parents / students stating the frustration that they are paying upto £15 a week travel to be able to get to the college they have been accepted at. Some were heartbreaking 💔 explaining they had to turn down there placement as they couldn’t afford the travel.
Labour MP candidate Jon Pearce for High Peak and the first ever East Midlands Mayor candidate Claire Ward for East Midlands Mayor got in touch and took on the fight of this mammoth task that we have been trying to get for years .
So what did they do?
🎟️Claire Ward, Jon Pearce and local councillors came to a meeting that I held at the Glossop Labour Club and listened and spoke with parents , school teachers to hear from them first hand how much this would
Mean financially to us in Glossop and the High Peak .
Claire and Jon arranged interviews for myself with all the local papers, we did an interview (below) on BBC North West reaching out and explaining why we need it.
We collated a petition and Claire and Jon presented to Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham and held meetings with him. He agreed to work with Claire to get The our pass extended to Glossop and the High Peak.
🎟️ The Best Bit ….. RESULT
Claire ward has pledged and Guaranteed that should she be elected on May 2nd Glossop the High Peak will get the OUR Pass l! It WILL be extended from Greater Manchester to include SK13 for all school leavers ! This would be history making and life changing for many students for generations to come . Claire has agreed with Andy Burnham that they will work together as Mayor of Greater Manchester and Mayor of East Midlands, if she elected. Claire’s Pledge is she will use her Budget to fund it! This is all in place and ready to go .
🎟️What can we do ?
ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS VOTE FOR CLAIRE WARD on May 2nd 🗳️ to be the first ever East Midlands Mayor!!!
Claire has backed us throughout this campaign and been the only candidate to give us what we have pleaded for many years 🙏
Claire Ward has so many amazing changes in place also she really will make the future much more positive for Derbyshire ###
