Celebrating Achievement! 🏅

Huge congratulations to our colleagues Mick Rock and Alana Rowbotham, who conquered the Manchester Marathon with determination, resilience and incredible spirit.

Alana powered through with confidence built from months of training - and found inspiration (and humour!) along the way.
Mick battled through a brutal final 10k, lifted by the cheers of the crowd and the sight of his family near the finish line.

Mick also dedicated his run to Cancer Research UK, raising an amazing £1,145 in memory of his dad - a truly meaningful achievement.

We’re proud of both Mick and Alana for showing what’s possible with preparation, perseverance and heart.
A huge well done to you both! 👏

We’re proud to share that , our Kirow Crane Production Chargehand, will be taking on the Manchester Marathon on April 19th 2026, in support of Cancer Research UK!

What started as a personal challenge has become something far more meaningful, in Mick’s own words:

“Basically, I’ve been a casual runner from round about 2020, generally 5ks and 10ks but decided I wanted to challenge myself and last year quite naively signed up for the Manchester Marathon, with not much belief that I would actually get a place. At first doing the marathon was more of a personal goal but when it was confirmed that I had been entered I decided I would take part in aid of Cancer Research UK - I lost my dad to cancer when I was 19 years old and have had friends and relatives who’ve had had close ones also be affected by it and seeing the donations and everyone’s encouragement so far really has made an impact and hopefully will help me get over the line come April 19th.”
