If your business is in e-commerce, this one is worth a moment of your time.
On July 13th, the Government published the conclusions to its Low Value Imports (LVI) consultation.
The headline: the Β£135 customs duty de minimis is being abolished.
Right now, goods imported into the UK under Β£135 are exempt from customs duty entirely. That changes under the new mandatory LVI customs framework coming in, with a target date of March 2029.
If you are an online retailer, a marketplace, or you import goods at lower values into the UK, your compliance picture is about to look very different.
2029 might feel a long way off. But the businesses that start planning now will be the ones that adapt without the stress when the time comes.
We have been handling customs clearance day in, day out for years. If you want to talk through what this means for your business, get in touch.
