I am just putting a post up on here incase anyone posts about xxv courier and logistics driving dangerously on the A72 near Cadrona.
I was on my way back to Galashiels from a job in West Linton, just passed the junction for Cadrona and before the s bend in the road by the river, the bus had pulled in on the road by the houses on the road side, with 3 or 4 cars behind it coming to a halt. I started to slow down, when my break pedal went to the floor and stopped working.
I didn't have much time to think, the van wasn't stopping and I was about to plough into the vehicle in front, I could see that there was oncoming cars on the other side of the road about 400meters away, so I had to pull out to go past the stationary vehicles or drive into the back of them, put my hazard lights on to try warn other vehicles there was an issue. Used my gears to slow down and was very fortunate that there was a lay by to drive into and handbrake to stop.
The bus pulled off and the cars followed, with a few hand signals at me as they drove off past me.
The RAC have been out, and the brake fluid hose has come loose, and the wheel has rubbed a hole in the pipe.
So if by any chance their are any negative posts that appear, honestly the gods were on all our sides, because I was seconds from an accident and not just driving like a clown.
Now 2.5 hours later sitting in the cold waiting for a recovery truck, have a blessed weekend everyone.
