When you travel Scotland, be sure to check out all the amazing and friendly re-enactor groups preforming all of the country. Many castles do weekend performances during the spring and summer. Check sites like Historic Environmental Scotland and The National Trust for events near where you may be visiting for details. The guys and gals of the re-enactment community do a wonderful job of bringing history to life. You might just make a lifelong friend or two.
