For more than 40 years, Gary King has helped shape the UK temperature-controlled transport sector, bringing technical expertise, strategic leadership and a relentless focus on operational excellence to some of the country's largest retail fleets. Throughout that journey, Gray & Adams has been proud to work alongside him, delivering innovative transport solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the industry.

From his early days as an apprentice technician through to senior fleet management roles at Christian Salvesen, Tesco and Sainsbury's, Gary played a key role in driving fleet innovation. Whether advancing double-deck trailer operations, supporting sustainability initiatives, or adapting fleets to meet the challenges of urban distribution, he consistently championed quality, efficiency and long-term value.

Our partnership was built on more than supplying trailers. It was founded on collaboration, problem-solving and a shared commitment to finding practical solutions that worked in demanding real-world operations. Together, we explored new technologies, delivered major fleet projects and helped shape the future of temperature-controlled transport.

After stepping away from Sainsbury's in 2024, Gary continues to share his knowledge and experience as a fleet consultant, supporting businesses across the sector.
