This week we are moving The I Frances narrowboat to Holland for its new owner who has an exciting adventure ahead of him to restore the boat and enjoy her on the beautiful Dutch waterways.

This boat has a quite remarkable history. I Frances is a one-of-a-kind, ocean-going narrowboat that crossed the Atlantic Ocean from Canada to Ireland before cruising through the canals of the UK. Designed by naval architect Bryan Crutcher, she was built with a steel hull, full-length keel, and removable sails!

Nice little run at the begining of the week. A Seamaster 27 from Landamores to one of our home town marinas that ironically we dont visit very often, Ipswich Beacon Marina. The waterfront in Ipswich has been transformed over the past decade and provides a fantastic stop off for those transiting the East Coast with the River Orwell and River Stour providing decent sailing and other places to visit within a short distance.

Thanks to Wayford Marine for helping out last week when we were tasked with moving this Wooden Broads Cruiser from Ely back to Norfolk. When the lift off at the proposed destination (at another boatyard) didn't go to plan, the team stepped in and really helped us out. Thanks!!

Last week we moved a Maril 880 from Woudsend in The Netherlands for Bushnell's Marine Services. The Maril 880 is a stable and spacious sloop and has all the facilities to spend several days on the water. Not only is there room for about 16 people, there is a possibility to sleep 4 on board with all mod cons!! Fabulous

Just to finish the story. "Vivacious" arrived at a very wet Suffolk Yacht Harbour this morning. Sarah and Remi have completed around 1,750 miles round trip. Now back to the yard and get ready for the next one!!

After our journey South over the weekend, Sarah and Remi arrived at https://leportvauban.com/en/ yesterday evening. Today we have loaded "Vivacious" a 1927 West Solent One Design. In 1924 the 'W' Boats were designed by H. Jacobs and H.G. May of the Berthon Boat Company in Lymington as one-design cruiser racers. Five boats were initially commissioned by members of The (Royal) Lymington Yacht Club and became better known as the West Solent Restricted Class. During the following nine years a further 27 boats were built. This example is now on its way back to the UK.
