Geest Line trial new “Nanatainer”
Geest Line are trialling 10 of the unique shaped containers in their fleet. The boxes are designed to fit at the aft of the vessel ensuring space is fully utilised. These boxes will be used to transport Tropical Produce from the Caribbean, ensuring cargo arrives safe and fresh. The idea has been slipped in by FD Vicky Staley.
Ops Director James Lewer said “a great initiative to maximise loadings on our vessels, they look great too”, The Braai expert added “A lots of research has gone into these boxes and Geest are proud to be part of the project – the market is ripe for this kind of development!”
Debbie Taylor, Sales exec for Geest Line was however less than impressed “what a waste of time and money” adding “It just doesn’t stack up, if you ask me Geest Line have slipped up on this occasion”.
The final decision sits with Banana expert Debbi Donovan. Instrumental in the design Debbi said, “love them – I find them very a-peeling”.
Geest line will be making the final decision whether to invest in these boxes and place an order for these containers by midday Wednesday 1st April. MD Richard Stapleton says it is likely to be a “split” decision!
