Hop off at Evesham Vale Station and there's a proper walk waiting for you — down through the country park to the River, with plenty of shade along the way.

Bring the dog (£1.50 dog ticket), even pack a picnic, and take it at whatever pace suits.

When the steam engines take a break, watch out for Joyce doing the work — our diesel locomotive, built in 2021 in Hastings and rebuilt in the Perrygrove workshops before coming to Evesham. She's steady, reliable, and just as much a part of the story here as any of our steam engines.

Otherwise look out for St Egwin or Monty in steam instead — each with their own history and character, with drivers very happy to introduce you properly.

We're open as usual today for the Bank Holiday — narrow gauge trains running, the Fruit & Vegimals Trail still out around The Valley and town, and plenty of room to explore.

Please note we resume our term time opening hours after 3rd September - open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am.

An Annual Pass pays for itself after around eleven visits for a family of four — and once you've got one, there's no need to book ahead, just turn up whenever suits.

It's a good one for grandparents with preschoolers, or anyone who fancies making the railway a regular part of their week rather than a once-a-year outing.

Not valid for special events, including Father Christmas.

Planning a visit this Bank Holiday and want to know what to expect beforehand? The Valley Railway Adventure is an outdoor site with a mix of paved and grass areas, and the train ride itself is seated throughout.
