I visited last November and absolutely LOVED it. ❤️

It’s honestly one of the prettiest cities I’ve been to - so clean, so easy to explore, and packed with things to see and do. The food scene was incredible too, from cosy cafés and delicious bakeries (the pastries are chef’s kiss 👌) to amazing street food markets.

So sorry for the radio silence lately… I haven’t gone missing, life has just been a little bit full on and I genuinely haven’t had five minutes to post anything! 😂

Behind the scenes I’ve still been busy looking after all your lovely existing bookings, sorting new enquiries and getting holidays booked in as normal ✈️☀️

But home life has definitely been keeping me on my toes too…

I’ve got one doing A-Levels, one doing GCSEs, an 85-year-old dad who went in for a new knee and somehow came out needing a pacemaker instead 😅… and a nearly 15-year-old dog who has been in and out of the vets having tests and now requires plenty of pampering and cuddles 🐶❤️

Honestly… I don’t know about anybody else, but I need a holiday!!! 🍹😂

Let’s talk travel insurance ✈️

I’ve had a few conversations recently with various people who have either needed to cancel a holiday due to medical reasons or needed medical assistance while away — and they hadn’t taken out travel insurance. It genuinely shocks me that people still travel without it.

We all see the horror stories where insurance hasn’t been taken out and families are left doing GoFundMe-style fundraisers just to cover medical bills or get loved ones home safely.

Travel insurance is absolutely essential. It protects you from significant financial losses and emergencies while travelling, covering things like medical expenses, trip cancellations, lost luggage and emergency repatriation. Without it, you could be liable for thousands of pounds in medical or travel costs.

It also reimburses pre-paid costs such as flights and hotels if you need to cancel, delay or cut your trip short due to unforeseen circumstances like illness, bereavement or redundancy. This is exactly why it’s so important to take insurance out as soon as the holiday is booked. Without sounding negative, nobody knows what’s around the corner and your health can sometimes change overnight.

In the last few years alone, I’ve personally needed to use insurance twice whilst in America on different trips — both situations would have resulted in thousands of pounds worth of costs had my insurance not stepped in and covered everything.

I’ve also recently had a lady travelling in South Africa who sadly suffered a bleed on the brain. Her insurance company took over immediately whilst she was in hospital and also arranged medical repatriation back to the UK — something that ran into the hundreds of thousands.

Please, please don’t leave it until the last minute. The reason for cancelling could happen the very next day after booking.
