⚓Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2026 – Working for Scotland⚓

This Scottish Apprenticeship Week, we’re celebrating how apprenticeships unlock potential, create careers, and strengthen Scotland’s economy. 🎉

From young people to re-learners, apprenticeships build in-demand, lifelong skills, raise aspirations, and provide real opportunities across communities. Last year, 25,000 individuals entered into Modern Apprenticeships across Scotland, highlighting the importance of apprenticeship pathways bridging skills gaps and support key growth markets, such as Offshore Wind & Renewable Energy.

At Forth Ports, we’re proud to play our part. As a Gold member of The 5% Club, we are committed to developing future talent in a safe, collaborative and progressive environment - always underpinned by our core belief of Safety First – Work Safe, Home Safe, Every Day. 🏅

We welcomed Year 2 pupils from Little Thurrock Primary School to the London International Cruise Terminal last week, where they explored the evolution of cruise ships—from the Titanic to today’s modern vessels.
The pupils had the chance to hear from an Ambassador Cruise Line representative, meet our special guest Burtle, and explore the historic terminal with a Tilbury Riverside Project volunteer. They also visited the landing stage to see tugboats and ships along the Thames, before wrapping up with a port tour, a fun game of ‘I Spy,’ and plenty of great questions!

This visit was a perfect example of business and education working together to spark curiosity and inspire future careers. A big thank you to our wonderful employees, Tilbury Riverside Project, and Ambassador, for making it such a memorable day!

Last week, we welcomed Raj Kehal, CEO of Women in Ports, to Tilbury, where she facilitated discussions with employees across a range of roles and assets, gathering insights on women's experiences and the value of diversity in the port sector, as part of their data gathering exercise.

As we mark with a focus on , we recognise our role in promoting the diverse career opportunities available at Forth Ports and across the industry.
