Last week, our Learning and Development team was delighted to welcome 16 pupils from eight secondary schools across the Falkirk Council area for our annual work experience programme at Forth Ports.

Over the course of the week, the pupils explored the diverse range of careers and operations across our business through a mix of hands-on activities, site visits, and interactive workshops. They also had the opportunity to meet colleagues from across the organisation and gain valuable insight into the skills, experience, and opportunities available within the port industry.

Karen Wright, DYW Forth Valley Programme Lead (Falkirk) said:
"Discovery Week gives secondary school pupils the chance to step behind the gates of the Port and see a world of work on their doorstep they may never have imagined for themselves.

They hear directly from staff across different departments, get a real feel for the range of careers on offer and work alongside pupils from other schools, building teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills along the way.

It’s about opening their eyes, building their confidence and showing them that there are more possibilities out there than they might realise. If a young person finishes the week thinking, ‘I never knew I could do that,’ then we’ve done something really special.”

Forth Ports Tilbury invites you to join us for our Annual Remembrance Day Service, held at the London International Cruise Terminal, Tilbury, RM18 7NG.

The service will take place on Wednesday 11 November 2026, with refreshments served from 5:00pm and the service beginning promptly at 6:00pm.

This memorial service is a moment to come together in reflection and remembrance, honouring those who served and supported our maritime community during times of conflict.

All are welcome to attend.

A commemorative bench has been unveiled in Leith in memory of Michael Fitzpatrick known to friends and family as Dick, a much-loved community advocate and mental health professional who was a great friend to many in the Leith area, where he lived with his wife, Linda.

Located beside the Victoria Swing Bridge, the bench celebrates Dick’s love of Leith and its people, offering a lasting addition to the area for the community to remember him.

Forth Ports was pleased to support the installation of the bench and help create a lasting memory of someone so loved within the community in Leith.

Forth Ports CEO Stuart Wallace attended to share a few words on the significance of the bench before Dick’s wife, Linda, cut the ribbon and shared memories of his life and his importance to the local community.

The UK’s first hydrogen fuel cell-powered ReachStacker has officially arrived at the Port of Tilbury, marking an important step in our journey towards lower-emission container handling.

Powered entirely by green hydrogen, the new Hyster ReachStacker will support our operations while helping us explore cleaner solutions for the future of port logistics.

We previously shared exciting news about our new agri-bulk storage and handling facility at the Port of Tilbury, developed in collaboration with our long-term customer, Cefetra Ltd. 🤝

We had the opportunity to speak with Forth Ports Chief Executive, Stuart Wallace and Cefetra Chief Executive, Andrew Mackay on-site at the new facility to discuss the significance of this new space, its impact on the partnership between Forth Ports and Cefetra and its capabilities for agricultural commodities and bulk cargoes moving forward.

Great news from The Port of Tilbury which has opened a major, new bulk storage and handling facility for long-term customer, Cefetra Ltd. This is a significant investment in our infrastructure, strengthening the port’s position as a leading UK gateway for agricultural commodities and bulk cargoes.

The purpose-built facility, with a floor space of around 14,000 square metres will be used for the storage and handling of imported animal feed products including soyabean meal, up to 65,000 tonnes, with the facility being designed around direct vessel discharge operations, improving efficiency and reducing cargo handling movements.

Stuart Wallace, Chief Executive at Forth Ports, said: “This new bulk storage and handling facility in Tilbury demonstrates our commitment to further investment across our port infrastructure across the UK and confirms the strong, long-lasting relationship we have with Cefetra.

“This is an exciting chapter in our partnership as Forth Ports and Cefetra continue to play a vital role in the UK agricultural supply chain.”

On Sunday, we were thrilled to partner with the Outwith Music & Arts Festival again to host the Port of Rosyth Bus Tours. Festival-goers began their journey in Dunfermline before heading to the Port of Rosyth for a guided tour, where they learned about the inner workings of the port, all aboard The Red Bus.

The tours were a fantastic success with plenty of positive comments about our Forth Ports tour guide and the insight they provided into the port.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the Outwith team once again for their collaboration.

All ticket proceeds from the bus tours go directly towards supporting local arts and music as a part of the festival.

What a day at the THE ORSETT SHOW last weekend! It was great to see the community come together once again for this event.
