ISLE OF IONA 🌊

Szkocja to magiczny świat. Chyba nikt już w to nie wątpi. Ludzie przyjeżdżają, zakochują się i… wracają. ❤️
Ale szkockie wyspy to już zupełnie inny świat. Trochę jak Karaiby, trochę jak baśń, trochę jak miejsce, które istnieje gdzieś poza czasem. 🌿
Tym razem przedstawiam Isle of Iona — niewielką wyspę u zachodnich wybrzeży Szkocji, której nazwa wywodzi się od gaelickiego Ì Chaluim Chille, czyli „Wyspa św. Kolumby”. To właśnie tutaj w VI wieku św. Kolumba założył słynny klasztor, który stał się jednym z najważniejszych ośrodków chrześcijaństwa w Szkocji. ⛪️
Żeby się tu dostać, trzeba najpierw dotrzeć na Isle of Mull, a stamtąd przepłynąć promem na Ionę. Samochodu ze sobą nie zabierzecie — wyspa jest miejscem, gdzie przede wszystkim witani są piesi. 🚶♀️
I już przy samym porcie czeka turkusowa woda i jasny, miękki piasek plaży. A dalej? Bujna zieleń, malownicze ruiny, stary klasztor, kamienne ścieżki i niewielkie sklepiki z lokalnymi produktami — takimi, których nie znajdzie się na szkockim lądzie.
Ale tak naprawdę nie dla tego wszystkiego przyjeżdża się na Ionę.
Przyjeżdża się dla spokoju.
Dla ciszy.
Dla tej niezwykłej, pozytywnej energii, która zdaje się wypełniać całą wyspę. ✨
Koniecznie trzeba się tutaj zatrzymać.
Wziąć głęboki oddech.
Postać chwilę bez pośpiechu i po prostu wchłonąć to wszystko naraz. 💙
A potem?
Przychodzi moment powrotu, odpływa prom… i już tylko zaczyna się tęsknić, żeby kiedyś znowu tu wrócić bo Iona zostaje w sercu na zawsze. 🌊🏝️

Scotland is a magical place. I think nobody doubts that anymore. People come here, fall in love with it and… come back. ❤️
But the Scottish islands are a completely different world. A little bit like the Caribbean, a little bit like a fairy tale, and a little bit like a place outside of time. 🌿
This time: Isle of Iona — a small island on the west coast of Scotland. Its name comes from the Gaelic Ì Chaluim Chille, meaning “Island of St Columba”. In the 6th century, St Columba founded a famous monastery here, which became one of the most important centres of Christianity in Scotland. ⛪️
To get here, first you need to reach the Isle of Mull, and from there take a ferry to Iona. Cars are not allowed on the island — it is a place best explored on foot. 🚶♀️
Right by the harbour, there is turquoise water and soft, light sand. And further on? Beautiful green nature, picturesque ruins, an old monastery, quiet paths and small shops selling local products — things that are hard to find on the Scottish mainland.
But really, people don’t come to Iona just for all of that.
They come for the peace.
For the silence.
For that special, positive energy that seems to fill the whole island. ✨
This is a place where it is worth stopping for a moment.
Taking a deep breath.
Standing still, without rushing, and simply taking it all in. 💙
And then?
The time comes to leave, the ferry sails away… and suddenly there is only one feeling — the wish to come back one day.
Because Iona stays in the heart forever. 🌊🏝️
