Sightseeing tour around the sovereign lighthouse and Beachy Head £350 or £35 per head. Bait can be supplied - please ask when you book. The boat

has a toilet accessible from the deck. Free tea and coffee available. Sadly the boat isn’t accessible to those in wheelchairs or with limited mobility. Please ring to speak to Simon and I’ll be happy to talk you through your options.

10, yes a party of ten onboard.

The fishing was patchy, and the wind against tide in the afternoon didn’t allow us to anchor on my productive marks.

The guys did very well overall though, with heaps of mackerel too.

Currently still out at sea on the night shift.

Back on it tomorrow am, and tomorrow evening again.

Brentwood Angling Sea Club.
8 chaps from Brenterz, that haven’t been on TOWIE before, or so I’m led to believe.

A little bit of a later start to allow yesterday’s slop to subside. It was still a bit choppy at 09:00, but the sea was glassy by 2pm.
Still not much about with lures on the drift, so a decent anchoring session was the script for the day.

Tope, smooth-hounds and bream were the target, and they were duly found, in a good number.
The lads kept scores for the sizeable fish they landed, and they’ll be able to tell you how many fish they caught, but I know there wasn’t much in the way of slow periods with the pick down. Crab, mackerel best baits for the bigger fish.

We tried drifting a little for the last 1.5 hours and it was again pretty quiet, even with bass busting in the masses of feeding gulls again.
Few bream, wrasse and schoolies on the drift.

Crooked Bill hanging with us for a few hours again too.

Lord Knott of Seamoors & entourage 😉👍🏻.

6 crew on a private booking, non of which were regular anglers, but this wasn’t their first rodeo on Deep Blue.
5 of the crew using my PENN Fishing Battalions and Fathoms.

The conditions were flat flat, and hot hot.
Not much happening with artificial fish tempting gizmos, so it’s all about baits, small and big, at anchor for us at the moment.

Lots of birds working the water again, fish seen jumping and skimming the surface again, trouble nabbing them….. again.

Anchoring for much of the afternoon saw a nice run of tope (no biggies), some half decent bream, doggies, Huss, a nice smoothie and a solid thornback.

Wind picking up tomorrow/Thursday morning so at least 1 day off this week.

8 crew onboard today, the smallest tide of the cycle, may rot.

We tried drifting further off, anchoring further off, drifting the famous bass mark, steaming around following a big flock of birds following bait fish, and everything inbetween.
Watching shoals of bass on the sounder, breaking water around us and seeing them following lures up to the surface, was frustrating. Nothing we did helped our chances.

We did manage to land a dozen or so bass, mostly smalls.

Out again tomorrow, Wednesday looks iffy.
