Culture, connection, and a whole lot of celebration in Mumbai.

We recently marked our strategic rebrand in a region that has long been central to our story. Our India team came together for an evening of traditional attire, glambot moments, and plenty of dancing, celebrating the people who power our journey every day.

Airline services across parts of the Middle East remain significantly disrupted due to ongoing airspace closures and heightened security restrictions. Several carriers have suspended or rerouted flights, and the situation remains fluid with possible short-notice changes.

Airspace Status

Closed: Iran, Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Syria
Partially Restricted: United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia
Open with Disruptions: Lebanon
Open: Jordan, Oman, Egypt, Turkey
Airline Operations

United Arab Emirates:
Air Arabia, Emirates, and Etihad Airways are operating limited flights from Dubai (DXB) and Abu Dhabi (AUH), mainly to assist stranded passengers and essential travel movements.

Qatar:
Qatar Airways operations remain suspended while airspace restrictions are in place.

Travel Impact

Airport closures across the Middle East have led many travellers to reroute through alternative hubs, significantly affecting Europe–Asia travel corridors. As a result, flight availability is limited and fares have increased across several routes.

Blue Marine Travel continues to closely monitor developments and will keep travellers informed of any important updates or operational changes.

Heightened security conditions continue across parts of the Middle East. The situation remains fluid and may change at short notice.

United Arab Emirates
Dubai Airports (DXB and DWC) are operating a limited number of flights, mainly to clear stranded passengers. Travellers should not proceed to the airport unless contacted directly by their airline with a confirmed departure time. Etihad has operated limited evacuation flights from Abu Dhabi (AUH). Operations remain subject to short-notice changes.

Qatar
Flight operations remain suspended at Hamad International Airport (DOH).

Kuwait, Bahrain & Saudi Arabia
Missile and drone activity has been reported. Airspace and airport operations are under ongoing security review and may change rapidly.

Turkey
Flights to several regional destinations have been suspended through varying dates up to 6 March.

Airspace & Maritime Update
Full airspace closures remain in effect over Iran, Iraq, and Israel, with partial or emergency restrictions across parts of the Gulf. Maritime risk levels around the Strait of Hormuz have also increased, affecting regional shipping movements.

This remains a dynamic situation, and further disruptions may occur without notice.

Blue Marine Travel continues to monitor developments closely and will provide direct support to affected passengers.

Flight operations across parts of the Middle East continue to experience disruption due to the ongoing regional situation. Our Operations Teams remain fully engaged, actively assisting clients with alternative routings, schedule adjustments, and re-accommodation where required. Early indications received through senior airline executives at Emirates and Qatar Airways suggest that a potential restart of operations could occur within approximately 72 hours, subject to a cessation of hostilities, with stabilization potentially beginning around 4 to 5 March, should conditions permit.

Notwithstanding a restart, the restoration of disrupted aircraft rotation patterns and the clearance of accumulated backlog are expected to require an additional two to three weeks from the date operations resume. During this recovery period, inventory levels are anticipated to remain constrained, and fare levels may reflect the impact of limited capacity and increased re-accommodation demand.

In light of the above, non-essential travel may continue to be considered for postponement until operational stability improves. We appreciate your understanding as the situation evolves and will continue to provide timely updates as further information becomes available.

Heightened tensions across the Gulf region following reported US and Israeli strikes against Iran have led to security alerts, reported explosions, and significant disruption to air travel as of 28 February 2026. Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE have been impacted, with emerging reports indicating that airspace in Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE has been closed, resulting in widespread flight cancellations, rerouting, and delays across multiple regional hubs. Further operational disruptions are expected as the situation develops.

As a precaution, travelers are advised to defer all non-essential travel to the Middle East, with the exception of Egypt, Oman, and Turkey, until stability returns to the region. Clients with essential travel requirements should anticipate schedule changes and potential last-minute adjustments, as this remains a rapidly evolving situation.

Blue Marine Travel is actively monitoring airline operations, airspace updates, and government advisories, and will continue to provide timely updates and direct support to affected passengers. If you have upcoming travel to or through the region, please contact our team for immediate assistance.

✈️🇮🇪 Aer Lingus to Close Manchester Long-Haul Base

Aer Lingus has confirmed it will permanently close its Manchester long-haul base on 31 March 2026.
💔 Nonstop flights from Manchester to New York - JFK end earlier, on 23 February 2026. Long-haul services to Orlando and Barbados will also be withdrawn.

📌 Key Points:
• Short-haul flights between Manchester and Ireland remain unaffected ✅
• Dublin continues to operate transatlantic flights to New York and Orlando ✈️

Aer Lingus cited underperformance of Manchester long-haul operations compared to Ireland-based routes as the reason for closure.
