When Helena got back in touch, she'd already moved with us once before.
This time she was relocating to Glasgow to start a new role with NHS Glasgow.

Most removals companies would have immediately upsold a larger van and additional crew.
For a move involving multiple collections, a long-distance journey and a 2nd-floor flat, that's often the standard approach.
But Helena and I had already worked together on a previous move and knew we made a pretty effective team. ๐ช
By tackling the loading and unloading together, Helena avoided the cost of paying a second mover to spend the entire day travelling between Laurencekirk and Glasgow.
On long-distance moves, travel time can make up a significant part of the labour cost, so this approach helped keep the move affordable without compromising on service.

Another challenge was transport.
Normally, our goods-in-transit insurance doesn't allow us to carry passengers while transporting customer belongings, which is why we don't generally offer lifts as part of our service.
However, after checking the diary and seeing that our own vehicle was due some maintenance, we hired a van that was insured for both goods and passengers.
That meant Helena could travel with us to Glasgow and arrive alongside her belongings rather than making separate travel arrangements.
Combined with us working together on loading and unloading, it also avoided the need to have a second mover spend the entire day travelling between Laurencekirk and Glasgow.
Add in the NHS discount, the travel costs avoided between St Andrews, Laurencekirk and Glasgow, and the fact we didn't need to upsell a larger crew, and the savings quickly start to add up.

One thing I really enjoy about working with returning customers is that there's already trust there.
By this point Helena knows how I work.
I know how she packs.
And together we've become a pretty effective moving and planning team. ๐๐ช
On both moves we loaded and unloaded side-by-side, adapting the plan as we went and making sure everything arrived safely.
