On today's episode of Cambelt Roulette, we have a 15 plate Discovery 4! Just over 100k miles, but 3 years overdue a replacement. The official recommendation from JLR is 7 years or 112k miles, whatever comes first

As you can see, the belt has started breaking up, and is on borrowed time before it snaps, causing irreparable internal damage. With a replacement engine potentially being a 5 figure bill, its not worth the risk. Call us for bookings or advice on replacements

Customer said they had no cold air from the A/C. A quick nitrogen pressure test showed a leak from the dryer part of the condenser rad

Unfortunately, to access the condenser, the whole front end of the car needs stripped

With a new condenser in place, we carried out another pressure test (just in case!) before rebuilding everything, refilling with the correct R1234yf gas, and testing the A/C system before handing the car back to the customer, looking like a Discovery 5 again 😅

Our rechassis project is progressing nicely, with some essential maintenance added in

Not as quickly as we'd hoped, but with more parts becoming obsolete, we have to find stock and await delivery. But with everything in hand now, this should be running again next week
