๐Ÿ STEM ON TRACK!

๐Ÿ”ฅ Since September 2025 we have been supporting the students of St Edmund's School in Dover, who have embarked on an exciting educational project called "STEM on Track". This unique project allows the school to build and race their very own racing kart (as seen below).

๐ŸŽ๏ธ Our sponsorship of this STEM initiative has supported St Edmund's with their project to make their vision a reality, by providing essential resources and funding for the next generation and the development of a future workforce. Over several weeks, 6 of our engineers went to help the students learn how to build the kart.

๐Ÿ’ฅ On the 7th of May, they attended the STEM on Track Test Day, where the build of the kart was judged by an F1 Alpine Engineer who is working on the 26-27 season car, and they passed first time, along with many other karts!

๐Ÿ‘ We would like to wish St Edmund's all the best on the 20th June where they will be taking part in the grand final. Good luck everyone, you've got this!

๐ŸŽ‰ The Port of Dover welcomes four cruise ships in one day for the first time ๐Ÿšข

Celebrity Cruises Eclipse, Viking Sky, HX Expeditions'MS Fram and Ponantโ€™s Le Bellot all sailed into the Kent port simultaneously on Friday, 8th May. This landmark moment is another example of the continued growth of Dover Cruise and its status as a premier cruise hub in the UK for both turnaround and transit calls.

๐Ÿ‘ We are excited to celebrate this milestone, the culmination of months of planning.

We would like to thank our fantastic operations team for their efforts on the day and throughout the season to ensure that guests and cruise lines receive the best travel experiences here in Dover.

We would also like to thank our cruise line partners. It was amazing to see our terminals and waterfront bustling with their guests from all over the world.

๐ŸŒท Caring for Our Community Spaces

Our Capital Projects Team spent a volunteering day helping to refresh the gardens at St Maryโ€™s Church in Dover, carrying out important seasonal maintenance to restore and brighten the grounds after winter.

The team worked hard to clear weeds and nettles, tidy the garden areas and help bring the church grounds back to life In doing so we created a cleaner, more welcoming space for churchgoers, visitors and the wider Dover community. ๐ŸŒฟ

The team's efforts made an immediate impact, helping preserve a valued community space that relies on support and care to thrive.

This volunteering experience has thought us that we can make a real difference, not only improving shared spaces but supporting organisations that may not have the resources to undertake this work themselves.

๐Ÿ‘ A huge thank you to everyone involved for giving their time and energy to support this meaningful project.

๐Ÿซ Supporting The Local Community Through Volunteering ๐Ÿ’œ

Members of our IT team, alongside colleagues from across the business, spent a volunteering day at Aycliffe Primary School, a local school close to the Port.

The team took on a range of projects to help improve the school environment, including building a cycle shed for pupilsโ€™ bikes, clearing and transforming an overgrown area outside the foyer, installing shelving in a toy shed and preparing fencing for repainting ๐Ÿšฒ๐ŸŒฑ

Their efforts made a real difference and helped create a more welcoming entrance for families and visitors, improving storage and safety for pupils while encouraging more children to cycle to school.

School staff shared how valuable the support was, particularly in helping tackle a many jobs that would otherwise have taken much longer to complete.

Volunteering days like this are a great example of how small acts can have a lasting impact in our local community.

๐Ÿ‘ A huge thank you to everyone involved for giving their time, energy and enthusiasm to support such a worthwhile project.

Supporting the community through volunteering โ˜€๏ธ

Over three Fridays in March, our Contracts and Procurement Team volunteered at Friends of Frampton Farm CIC, a social enterprise that provides a safe, inclusive and therapeutic learning environment for young people facing adversity ๐Ÿ’œ

Working alongside contractor partners, the team took on several practical projects to support the farm.

During the first two weeks, they created two new visitor car parks and moved an impressive 17 tonnes of shavings by wheelbarrow, laid anti-weed membrane and developed new parking spaces for visitors ๐Ÿšœ

By week three, the team continued by clearing overgrown land, installing fencing and creating a new hardstanding area to support the farmโ€™s animals. This includes giving the pigs outdoor access while enclosures are cleaned ๐Ÿ–

These were all projects the farm had hoped to complete for some time, and weโ€™re proud to have helped make that happen.

๐Ÿ‘ A huge thank you to everyone involved for giving their time, energy and teamwork to make a real difference.

Supporting the community through volunteering ๐Ÿ’œ

Our Operations Leadership Team came together for a Port of Dover volunteering day at the Rare Breeds Centre, run by the Canterbury Oast Trust. A charity that supports adults with learning disabilities through training, homes and work experience ๐Ÿซถ

The team spent the day refreshing weathered fencing and helping to clean the woodland play area, providing valuable support across the site ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

With usually only one groundsman maintaining the whole site, the teamโ€™s efforts helped complete what would have been three daysโ€™ worth of work, allowing staff to focus on other important tasks ๐Ÿชป

๐Ÿ‘ A very big thank you to the team for giving their time and making a real impact, all with a smile on their faces.
