The trip of a lifetime!🚐🌍

27 days, over 2,100 miles, five countries and one very special campervan called Paddy! ❤️

Was it always glamorous? Absolutely not! 😂

Was there always loads of room with a powered wheelchair, multiple carers and all our belongings? Definitely not!

But amongst the chaos of life on the road, there's nothing quite like finally getting pitched up at a gorgeous campsite, awning out, loads more space and somewhere beautiful to enjoy.

And I'd still choose that over an airport any day! 😂

Because honestly, being able to explore all these incredible places and get so close to nature is what makes it so special. Whether that's staying right beside Lake Como, surrounded by beautiful forests, or just a stone's throw from one of the most gorgeous islands I've ever visited.

Nothing else quite compares to that feeling.

To pull off a trip like this with a high-level spinal injury, a powered wheelchair and multiple carers, especially so soon after major surgery, and to feel comfortable, safe and happy throughout, was honestly incredible.

Paddy isn't just a campervan. He's a tool that makes it possible to get out, explore and experience all these gorgeous places that otherwise might have felt out of reach.

We've learnt so much along the way, and there are little changes and improvements I'm excited to make to help Paddy become even more practical and accessible for everyone who gets to enjoy him.

But after everything it's taken to get here, I'm incredibly proud of what we've created.

Here's to many more adventures! ❤️🚐

Let's make the outdoors accessible for everybody!

Feeling incredibly lucky to be out here in Paddy the camper and to have this level of freedom. 🚐💙
It’s been absolutely knackering at times 😅, but also so exciting, rewarding and genuinely amazing. So many places, so many memories, and still plenty more to come.

Two weeks down, two weeks to go! 🙌✨
Bring on the rest of the trip! 🌍🚐💨

🚐🌍 PADDY IS IN EUROPE!! 💚♿

This trip has been a LONG time coming.

Before my spinal injury, I had a plan – convert a van and travel around Europe. Life had other ideas, and that dream got put on hold for years.

Then Paddy came along… followed by my abscess and health problems, which meant cancelling the trip more than once.

But we’re FINALLY doing it! 🙌

🇮🇹 Next stop… Lake Como! 🏔️

So far, European van life has mainly involved sleeping in car parks and garages 😂 We’ve definitely woken up in some interesting places!

Paddy is packed to the rafters with the awning and all our gear, so we’re VERY ready to get set up, spread out and enjoy the next part of the adventure.

After all these years, Paddy is finally doing exactly what he was built for – giving me the freedom to get out there, explore and see where the road takes us. 💚

Honestly, I still can’t quite believe we’re here.

🚐🌍 Well… we finally made it. PADDY IS IN EUROPE! 💚

Before my spinal injury, I had a plan – convert a van and travel around Europe. Life had slightly different ideas, and that dream ended up being put on hold for a lot of years.

Eventually Paddy came along and made it feel possible again… then my abscess and health problems meant cancelling the trip more than once.

But we're FINALLY here! 🙌

We've gone from Norfolk to Paris 🇫🇷 and we're now heading through Switzerland 🇨🇭 on our way to Lake Como in Italy. 🇮🇹

So far, life on the road has involved sleeping in a mixture of car parks and garages along the way 😂 It's definitely been interesting, and we've ended up waking up in some pretty funny places!

I honestly can't quite believe we're doing it. After all these years, I'm finally getting to do the trip I've wanted to do for so long – and Paddy is doing exactly what he was built for. ♿🚐💚

It's been pretty cosy with everything packed inside, so we're definitely looking forward to getting the awning out, spreading ourselves out and enjoying the next part of the adventure.

🇮🇹🏔️ Lake Como… we're coming for you!

🚴‍♂️🇫🇷 WYMONDHAM TO PARIS – WE DID IT! 🇫🇷🚴‍♂️
What an absolutely mental few days. ❤️
Day 3 was brutal. 120 miles, 20+mph crosswinds, rain and some seriously tired legs. We had a lovely stay at our Airbnb that night, although I think everyone was far too knackered to actually appreciate how gorgeous the place was! 😂

Then came Day 4 – the final push to Paris… and thankfully the weather decided to be a little kinder to us! ☀️ Sun in the sky, less wind and the finish finally in sight.

Watching this bunch come in at the end was something I’ll never forget. They should be so bloody proud of themselves. What a mental challenge, what an achievement, and what an absolute bunch of nutcases. 😂❤️

I’ve made some amazing new friends through all of this, and I’ve got so much love for every single one of them. It’s genuinely been such a special experience to be part of, and one I don’t think I’ll ever forget. ❤️

And just to put into perspective what they’ve actually done… 🤯 406.84 miles ridden, 29 hours and 11 minutes in the saddle, and 16,050 ft of climbing! ⛰️ That’s the equivalent of climbing Ben Nevis more than three and a half times, or gaining more than half the height of Mount Everest from sea level. And they averaged roughly 14mph across the entire riding time! 🚴‍♂️💨

A HUGE thank you also has to go to James Lintz, who has pretty much been a one-man support crew at times. From all the organising beforehand to sorting everything out along the way — master mechanic, chef, problem solver… genuinely, what can’t he do?! 😂👏

And then there are all the incredible people and businesses who helped make this happen. The donations, shares, messages, bike parts, jerseys, support vehicle, signage, food, supplies and everything else people have given us along the way has honestly been overwhelming. ❤️
A massive thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters — Race Haul, Watling Construction & Groundworks, Nick Buchan, M&JB Logistic Solutions Ltd, Wymondham Chiropractic Clinic, Diamond Controls, The Cycle Shack in Diss, East Anglian Workwear and Imprint Signs & Graphics Ltd — plus everyone else who has helped, donated, shared or supported us along the way. 🙌❤️

🇫🇷🚴 DAY 3 — WE’RE FINALLY IN FRANCE! 🚴🇫🇷

After two absolutely massive days, everyone has already put in one hell of an effort… but today they’ve somehow got another 120 miles ahead of them! 😅💪 Hopefully through some gorgeous French countryside, but either way, it’s going to be a long day in the saddle.

The ferry crossing went smoothly and, thank God we had a team of chiropractors onboard 😂 — there was definitely some servicing needed… and not just on the bikes! 🚴🔧🤣

We eventually made it to the hotel, while Ellie and I spent the night in Paddy, tucked up inside the garage 😂🚐. We’re now back on support-crew duty and meeting the riders for lunch as they clock up those Day 3 miles.

As always, a massive thank you to our brilliant sponsors: Watling Construction and Groundworks • Race Haul • Nick Buchan • M&JB Logistic Solutions • Wymondham Chiropractic Clinic • Diamond Controls • The Cycle Shack in Diss • The Greyhound/Craft Union • East Anglia Workwear • Imprint Signs & Graphics Ltd 🙌💚

And thank you to everyone donating, sharing and cheering this bunch of nutcases on. If you’d like to give them an extra boost for what is going to be a VERY long Day 3:

Paddy isn’t just a campervan… he makes a pretty good support vehicle too! 🚐💙

He’s currently helping us reach our Paris finale for the Wyndham to Paris cycle 🚴🇫🇷

And once we’ve made it to Paris, Paddy’s job changes again – he’ll be taking us on our own adventure around Europe! 🌍♿🚐

Accessible campervan, support vehicle and soon-to-be European tour bus… he’s certainly earning his keep! 😂

🚴🇬🇧 DAY 2 UPDATE — WE’VE MADE IT TO DOVER! 💪

After an extremely early start this morning, battling our way through London, crossing Tower Bridge 🌉 and then taking on the hills towards Dover ⛰️, it’s been an extremely tough day for the riders.

There have definitely been some struggling legs today 😅, but nevertheless, they’re smashing on, clocking up the miles and getting it done! 🚴💨💪

We had a great stop-off at Finches Camping & Caravan Site and honestly, what a lovely place! ❤️ It was a shame we couldn’t stay the night because it looked absolutely gorgeous — lovely pitches and really good accessible toilets too, which is always a big plus! ♿🙌 Definitely one to remember.

It also made the perfect refuelling stop — jacket potatoes, beans, tuna and mayo 🥔😋 Exactly what was needed to get some energy back into those tired legs before the final push towards Dover!

And now… DOVER HAS BEEN REACHED! 🙌🇬🇧 Next stop, across the water and into FRANCE! 🇫🇷🗼

As always, a HUGE thank you to all of the brilliant sponsors helping make this whole adventure possible:

Watling Construction and Groundworks • Race Haul • Nick Buchan • M&JB Logistic Solutions • Wymondham Chiropractic Clinic • Diamond Controls • The Cycle Shack in Diss • The Greyhound/Craft Union • East Anglia Workwear • Imprint Signs & Graphics Ltd 🙌💚

And thank you to everyone following along, donating, sharing and sending the team encouragement. It genuinely means a lot, especially on days like today. ❤️

If you'd like to support this bunch of absolute nutcases as they continue towards Paris 😂🚴👇
