Day 7 - Monday 31st August 2026 on our second multi day tour of the season, with Solgruppen and Oppdag Vesterled med Kristin Prestvold, on our Tour of Orkney and Scotland’s North Coast (North Coast 500).

Our final day! It’s always nice to see the dynamic of folk meeting as strangers and leaving as friends. Leaving our overnight accommodation, we made our way to Dunrobin Castle and Gardens, enjoying the castle, gardens and .

No tour would be complete without an experience at one of the famous Scottish distilleries. Visiting Glenmorangie the group enjoyed a tour and some whisky tasting, with some singing as they re boarded the coach.

We continued to Aberdeen International Airport and their overnight hotel. Return to today. Safe travels and (Haste ye back).

Day 6 - Sunday 30th August 2026 on our second multi day tour of the season, with Solgruppen and Oppdag Vesterled med Kristin Prestvold, on our Tour of Orkney and Scotland’s North Coast (North Coast 500).

A more leisurely day for our group today as they took some time to explore and . Plus lots of shopping!

We later made our way to the Italian Chapel, built by Italian prisoners of war, during the Second World War. Their creation from corn beef cans and modest means is a real work of art and inspiration.

We explore the Churchill Barriers Orkney before making our way to Stromness Ferry and crossing the Pentland Firth to our overnight accommodation in Thurso.

Day 5 - Saturday 29th August 2026 on our second multi day tour of the season, with Solgruppen and Oppdag Vesterled med Kristin Prestvold, on our Tour of Orkney and Scotland’s North Coast (North Coast 500).

An early start as we caught the Orkney Ferries Mv Earl Thorfinn - Orkney Ferries for the 1.5 hour crossing to Isle of Westray. First stop was at Noup Head Lighthouse exploring the nearby cliffs and witnessing the hundreds of birds making up a considerable . Then onto Noltland Castle, once owned by the husband of .

Lunchtime was spent at Saintear, with another amazing meal and island hospitality. Amazing cheesecake too! A place we can’t recommend highly enough when you visit the island.

We continued exploring with visits to Grobust Beach / where the remains of a significant Neolithic site was recovered. It was then a trip to the Westray Heritage Centre and thereafter onto our final site visit at Quoygrew Viking Longhouse, an amazing sight and location.

Some free time was spent shopping before our return to . Another great day for our guests creating .

On Tuesday 25th August 2026 we started, our second multi day tour of the season, with Solgruppen and Oppdag Vesterled med Kristin Prestvold, on our Tour of Orkney and Scotland’s North Coast (North Coast 500). It was great to see our friends, with returning and new guests.

Day 1 - Picking up at Aberdeen International Airport, on a glorious sunny day. Making our way north to City of Inverness, Highlands of Scotland, we had our first stop at Clava Cairns, and then into overnight accommodation, with an evening of local hospitality.

Day 2 - We started the day with a visit to Culloden Battlefield NTS, setting the scene for the Uprising, and the subsequent consequences leading to the Highland Clearances. Thereafter on to Ullapool, see some , lunch and onto Knockan Crag with its stunning Mountain View’s. A visit to Ardvreck Castle was a must. We then made our way to Smoo Cave before our overnight stay at Tongue Hotel which we’d highly recommend.

Day 3 -We made our way to , one of the hardest and brutal hit areas during the Highland Clearances. We then continued to to the . Containing on to Thurso for lunch then on to Grey Cairns of Camster with amazing Neolithic structures. We then continued our journey on the Northlink Ferry from Scrabster Ferry Terminal to Stromness Ferry Terminal before arriving at our destination in .

Day 4 - The group continued to explore Orkney courtesy of Orkney Transport while we enjoyed a drivers rest day.

Today we explored the aka known as , . A stop to see the MacNeil ancestral home of . Then on to Vatersay Beach for some exploring. Some more sight seeing and sharing the experience at Barra Airport for the flight beach landing. The history of village was explained before enjoying some free time in the afternoon.

After an overnight stay in Tarbert Harris we had a drive south to Luskentyre Beach and Seilebost Beach for some photo opportunities. Thereafter we returned to Tarbert for our CalMac Ferries ferry to Lochmaddy in , fitting in some retail therapy and purchasing many products. After arriving in North Uist it was straight to Benbecula, Uist and a visit to the North Uist Distillery. A few samples and bottles purchased! Then in to Barpa Langais chambered cairn before making our way to our overnight accommodation in South Uist courtesy of the Borrodale Hotel and The Polochar Inn.

Departing Stornoway we made our way to Uig Sands where the Lewis Chessmen were found. Then onto Bostadh Iron Age Village and house. No trip would be complete without a visit to Seaforth Harris Tweed. Ian’s knowledge and demonstration of the Harris Tweed Authority, history and weaving is second to none and an experience that is always a great memory for our guests. As we head south, the sun is definitely starting to shine! 😎

Meantime the group explored Callanish Stones, Carloway Broch, Garenin Black House Village, Arnol Blackhouse Museum, Butt of Lewis Lighthouse, finishing with a visit to , before returning to their accommodation. A great day was had by all. We’d also like to thank Lochs Motor Transport Ltd for providing the relief cover and their coach. Delivering high standards as always.

11/08/2026 - Day 2 of our Tour to the outerhebrides / Western Isles , With our friends, courtesy of Oppdag Vesterled med Kristin Prestvold and Solgruppen. Departing Inverness we made our way on the scenic route to ullapool. Catching the CalMac Ferries MV Seaforth, we arrived in Stornoway, checked into accommodation and then dropped the group at lews_castle, to explore and see the original lewis_chessman, before exploring Stornoway and enjoying a leisurely evening. It was also great to bump into the legends that are Stornoway Rugby Football Club, training hard for the forthcoming season, and looking forward to sharing in their epic travels once again.
