GWR Large Prairie 4144 is back at the MNR!

We are pleased to announce that 4144 has arrived at the MNR today and will be operational during our upcoming 1940s event this weekend, alongside our resident Standard 4MT 80078.

Special thanks to Didcot Railway Centre for allowing us the use of 4144 over the weekend.

After spending two weeks at the MNR, 34072 “257 Squadron” starts its trip back home to the Spa Valley Railway.

We would like to take this opportunity to extend our thanks to both Spa Valley Railway and SLL - Southern Locomotives Ltd for lending us the locomotive over the past two weeks, it has been a pleasure having her.

Today, we bid farewell to GWR Large Prairie 4144 as it embarks on its journey to the Spa Valley Railway for their Summer Steam Weekend. However, we are pleased to announce that it will soon return for our upcoming 1940s weekend (Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August).

We would like to extend our gratitude to Didcot Railway Centre for providing the locomotive to us.

GWR Large Prairie 4144 is scheduled to be out running this Saturday before its departure next week. It will be running to our Maroon Timetable.
