Today Class 47 47580 headed out on our first Polar Express™ train of the day for a test run following some repairs to her coolant system over the past few days.

This coincidentally became the first-ever double-headed Class 47 Polar Express™ train. A fantastic sight to behold to see both MNR owned Class 47s working side by side and a testament to the dedication to our T&RS team & former owners who worked hard to get 47580 back in working order ready to give 47596 a break next week.

Today, the newest addition to our Railway was unveiled. Mk1 BFK 14023 left the Traction & Rolling Stock Shed after undergoing a 9-month long restoration. As a result, we now have a total of 8 operational Mark 1 & 2 carriages, all bearing the distinctive Maroon livery.

Class 03 063 is pictured at Dereham today moving ballast wagons around in order to get them ready to be taken down the line for the continuing engineering works.

The locomotive will be making its debut at this weekends Diesel Gala where it will be hauling its first passengers trains at the MNR. It will be officially named at Thuxton Station on Saturday, with the ceremony train departing from Dereham at 10:40.
