Farewell Announcement
We are just finishing another spectacular flying season; celebrating our 3rd Trip Advisor Travellers Choice Award, and an unblemished Star rating. We are approaching a decade since we began flying at Derby Aero Club. During that time we have flown almost Three Thousand People; ranging from 8 to 100 years old. We've held hundreds of parties, for all sorts of celebrations -
some small and intimate; some huge and raucous! We have met many amazing people, at varying stages in their lives, we have laughed with them, we have wept tears of joy and shed tears of sadness as we met people who just floored us with their courage and humility. Throughout all this time we have been encouraged by Martin and Margaret Jones, owners of Derby Aero Club , who very kindly invited us to their Airfield over 10 years ago. We could never have achieved any of this without our incredible team of Volunteers - ranging from 12 to 80! Some of the younger Crew Members have gone on to work in Aviation and Aerospace; others into professions where they can demonstrate the "soft skills" they learned with fellow Crew Members; not forgetting the Pilots. What a fab bunch of chaps, all of whom flew for the fun, and turned up, week after week, year after year. We cannot thank them enough... Andy, Charlie, Joe, Kevin, Tab, Tom & Al – and not forgetting the wonderful women who supported them. Now it's our turn! We have decided it to embark on a new adventure starting with a rest, followed by my long overdue retirement, probably involving lots of flying about. With that in mind, our 2024 Season will be the last season we operate our Gorgeous Tiger Moths Muttley and Priscilla. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey! It's been a blast.
