Update on the Travel Derbyshire on Demand service

Following the closure of CT4N, the former Travel Derbyshire on Demand service could no longer operate. We understand how important this service is to local communities and have worked with partners to put a replacement in place as quickly as possible.

A replacement service is now operating in the Bolsover, Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire area. It is operated by Notts and Derby Buses and runs under the Nottsbus On Demand brand.

Following the closure of the bus operator CT4N earlier this month, the East Midlands Combined Counties Authority (EMCCA) have been working closely with local councils, transport partners and bus operators to find replacement services wherever possible.

These include commercial services and the pre-booked Travel Derbyshire Demand Responsive Transport services.

Owing to a police incident in Derby earlier this morning which resulted in road closures, trentbartonland buses were unable to leave their depot in Meadow Road.

Roads have since reopened but delays are expected to services running in and out of the city.

Please be aware that it will take some time for services to return to normal.

Belper Bus Station and Chapel Street will be closed from 7pm to 5am from March 16th until April 4th owing to resurfacing works being carried out by Derbyshire County Council between the A609 roundabout and Derwent Street.

This means that trentbarton and High Peak bus services will not be stopping there between these hours.

High Peak will divert from the A6 between Broadholme Lane and New Road, whilst trentbarton bus journeys will use King Street for every departure during these overnight works.

As with the recent A6 closure at Milford, cars and other light traffic will be routed through the A6-A517-B5023-A6 (and vice versa).

HGVs are directed to the A6-A38-A610-A6 (and vice versa).

Access will be maintained, wherever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will reopen as soon as the work is finished, which may be earlier than advertised.

From March 2nd to 4th the A6 at Milford will be closed to traffic in both directions from 7.30am to 4.30pm. This is owing to essential tree removal above Makeney Road being carried out by Amber Valley Borough Council.

High Peak and trentbarton services will be running with diversions following the A517 Bridge Foot to Shottle and the B5023 to Duffield.

Swadlincote bus station is undergoing a twelve week improvement programme which will result in its closure and that of the adjoining car park.

The bus stops on Ripley Market Place are in use again following six weeks' of improvement works. This means that stops which had been temporarily relocated to Grosvenor Road and High Street have returned 'home' to the Market Place.

The A6 between Cromford and Matlock Bath on the stretch by Masson Mill is currently closed whilst emergency work is carried out to secure a number of trees at risk of falling on to the carriageway.
