The Scarlet Tiger moth is so called because the caterpillars are striped black and orange. Leave a bit of Groundsel in your garden for them. Polly is guarding the treasure chest of flowers and can you see the gold coins? The strimmers left the Cornish Bellflower and it’s now flowering. The blue and gold theme in the planter being tended by our latest volunteer Neil is also coming along nicely.

If you have been at our station recently you will have noticed- and admired - the splendid show of red Valerian along the safety railings of the Network Rail platform. The Friends would like to share photos of the wild flowers that spread across the platform now it is unused. Beautiful maroon Aquilegia, Colombine, Wild strawberry, Herb Robert, Hawkweed and more Valerian.

Excellent fact finding trip to Exeter by the Friends of the station volunteers. The Museum, Cathedral, underground tunnels and the Catacombs in the St Bartholomews cemetery make an interesting day out. Also the Exeter Red Coat walking tours tell you all about them.
