Tomorrow, we're heading for the beautiful English Riviera, where our passengers can choose to spend the afternoon exploring Torquay or Paignton.

🏖️ Torquay offers elegant palm-lined promenades, a bustling harbour, boutique shops, cafés, and stunning coastal views. It's the perfect destination for those looking to relax by the marina or enjoy a leisurely stroll.

🎡 Paignton is a classic British seaside town, famous for its long sandy beach, traditional pier, colourful seafront, and family-friendly atmosphere. Whether it's fish and chips by the sea or an ice cream on the promenade, there's plenty to enjoy.

⚡ A landmark day for 89001 'Avocet' ⚡

Join us on Tuesday 18th August for The Avocet Achievement – a truly historic railtour celebrating the first public main line operation of Class 89 No. 89001 'Avocet' in over 25 years.

This isn't just another charter. It will also mark the first time 89001 has ever travelled north of Carlisle on the West Coast Main Line, making this a genuine milestone in the locomotive's remarkable story.

Following years of dedicated restoration by the AC Locomotive Group, working in partnership with Locomotive Services Group, and after the locomotive's successful return to the main line earlier this year, enthusiasts now have the opportunity to experience this unique electric locomotive in public service once again.

📍Boarding at: Crewe, Preston, Carlisle

Our destination is Glasgow Central, with time to explore the city before the return journey behind this one-of-a-kind locomotive.

For Class 89 fans and main line enthusiasts alike, this is a tour that will go down in the history books.

A significant milestone in the overhaul of 45231 The Sherwood Forester as the locomotive's boiler has now been lifted from the frames and is ready for detailed assessment and overhaul work to begin.

These photographs capture a sight not often seen outside of workshops, highlighting the scale and complexity involved in returning a steam locomotive to main line and heritage railway service.

Now approaching its 90th birthday, The Sherwood Forester continues its journey towards steaming again, and we look forward to sharing further updates as work progresses.

A special moment for 89001 today as she heads south on the Chairman's Train from Carlisle to London Euston.

The iconic electric locomotive is working her first Class 1 passenger service in 26 years, marking another significant milestone in her remarkable story.

A proud sight to see her back where she belongs, leading passengers on the main line once again.

Tomorrow, our luxurious Portsmouth Harbour Statesman heads south for a fantastic day beside the sea in one of Britain's most historic naval cities! 🚂⚓

Joining us from Chesterfield, Belper, Derby, Long Eaton, East Midlands Parkway, Loughborough, Leicester, Kettering, Wellingborough and Bedford, you'll travel in comfort aboard The Statesman directly to Portsmouth Harbour.

The forecast is looking ideal for a day by the coast, with plenty of sunshine expected and temperatures reaching around 29°C, so don't forget your sunglasses, sun cream and perhaps a hat if you're planning to spend time exploring the waterfront! ☀️😎

Once there, you'll be perfectly placed to visit the world-famous Historic Dockyard, home to HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the remarkable Mary Rose, Henry VIII's flagship which spent over 400 years beneath the Solent before being raised and preserved for future generations.
