Private aviation just gave the industry a preview.
NetJets, the largest fractional operator in the world, has curtailed sales of its Jet Cards and leases for the second time in five years. Demand is at record highs, so the largest operators are protecting their fractional owners first and pulling back access for everyone else. VistaJet are requisitioning aircraft from their US fleet to cope with program demand and likely over selling too.
That is not a criticism. It is simply how those programs are built. You buy a share, or you buy hours, and you take a place in a queue that moves depending on who bought more and when.
Charter was never designed to work that way.
