One of the raised beaches that we pass on the Circumnavigate Tour, captured by Konrad, a fantastic photographer, who occasionally joins us on tours.

You’d be forgiven for thinking this was the Caribbean…
But this secret shoreline lies off the wild west coast of Scotland, on a remote island called Jura. Beneath that turquoise sea lies a dark loch — about 7°C warmer than the ocean above. Scotland loves a paradox. 😉

A nice start to a Corryvreckan tour today when we were surrounded by a large pod of dolphins in Lowlandman’s Bay.

A large pod of Bottlenose Dolphins as we passed Corryvreckan on route to Scarba.

A short while later we encountered 4 x Golden Eagles soaring near Corpach Bay while Circumnavigating Jura.

Definately a day to remember for the guests.

What makes Jura so special? There is nowhere quite like it in Scotland. Mountainous, wild and sparsely populated, it couldn’t be more different from Islay.
