IS YOUR BOAT’S POWER STUCK IN THE PAST? ⛵

During a recent off-grid refit, we removed these legacy solar controllers and replaced it with a modern Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT. The difference in performance and reliability is a total game-changer.

HOW SOLAR ☀️ TECH HAS EVOLVED:

🔹 Up to 30% More Power.
Modern MPPT technology extracts significantly more energy from your solar panels compared to legacy PWM / early controllers.

🔹 Smart Monitoring.
No more guessing battery levels! Bluetooth built-in gives you real-time data right on your phone.

🔹 Lithium-Ready.
Older units weren't designed for today’s high-performance Victron lithium battery banks or MultiPlus systems.

If your boat, campervan, or off-grid setup is still running on outdated electronics, you’re missing out on vital power, efficiency, and system safety.

INTO THE HUB OF MARINE INNOVATION 🛥️⚓️🌊– FOR A DOSE OF INSPIRATION!💡

We spent the day down at the Southampton International Boat Show (SIBS) 2026 – and what an absolute hive of inspiration it was! Huge thanks to British Marine for inviting OGO Electrical as a member. Connecting directly with industry leaders, international component manufacturers, and pioneering boatbuilders provided invaluable insights into emerging marine energy requirements and system integration trends. Staying closely plugged into this network keeps our design standards high.

WHAT SET SIBS 2026 APART?

This year’s show truly stood out with over 20 world and UK debuts, the dedicated Powerhub, and the new Wooden Boat Stage Afloat. Showcasing next-generation powerboats and advanced electrical setups went hand in hand with a massive wave of global premieres in vessel design.

Connecting with international gear manufacturers, fellow British Marine members, and global power innovators keeps our design standards high. Events like SIBS ensure every system we design utilizes the most advanced, reliable off-grid tech available on the market today.

OGO Electrical is fully equipped to manage bespoke off-grid power projects – from luxury marine craft and motorhomes to remote architectural structures.

NO SURPRISE on site! 😬⚡️

Every system – from inverters to lithium battery banks – undergoes thorough bench-testing before installation.

We check the compatibility and seamless communication of every single component in our workshop first. That way, when we’re out on-site, everything connects and works together flawlessly, no matter the location.

Quality work always starts with proper preparation! 🛠️

BEFORE vs. AFTER ⚓️
A simple component swap on a boat is RARELY "simple"! 🌊

Every vessel ⛴️ is completely unique, and this retrofit proved just that. We discovered the optimal setup required mounting Victron components all over the boat — from the Inverter and lithium bank to the MPPT, Cerbo GX, and screen in entirely separate compartments. 🧭

Navigating unpredictable layouts and routing cables through hidden spaces took time and problem solving, but the final change makes a massive difference on the water.

✅ Replaced legacy batteries with lightweight, high-density lithium storage.

➡️ Total energy independence with seamless remote monitoring.

📩 DM us or visit us to discuss a custom electrical setup for your boat, vehicle or a beach hut. 🛥️ 🚐 🏡

Spotted this incredible ART DECO landmark – ELECTRIC HOUSE IN TORQUAY, DEVON.

Energy companies built actual "palaces" just to show people how to use electricity. 💡

In 1935, it was the ultimate high-tech hub where people went to see the future of power.

This building was originally constructed as a giant, state-of-the-art showroom to teach the public how to use home electricity for the very first time. 🏠

Nearly 90 years later, the tech has completely changed. We’ve gone from getting homes connected to the grid to building custom lithium and solar systems that let you take your power wherever you travel, completely off-grid. ⚡🔋

We bring that same spirit of innovation to your adventures – designing reliable off-grid electrical systems for camper vans, boats, and beach cabins so you can live, work, and explore everywhere. 🚐⛵🏠

💡 What’s your favorite piece of vintage tech or history?
