The big reveal!

After Colchester Half Marathon last month, it was finally time for The Robin Cancer Trust to reveal their fundraising total for 2026, and two of our staff headed to the ceremony to represent Ewals Cargo Care in our role as a Silver Sponsor.

This year they raised a record breaking £138,690, a huge increase over last year's circa £90k and a testament to the hard work and dedication of the charity team.

Well done everyone, we hope to be back working with your again in 2027!

A big WELL DONE to all our runners!!!

This Sunday was the Colchester Half Marathon in aid of the The Robin Cancer Trust and our team of entrants all did an excellent job of tackling the 13.1 mile course.

Running south into the heart of the City and then back up North and out into the beautiful rural villages before returning to Colchester United FC stadium, this course throws a range of scenery and terrains at its participants to overcome. Everyone finished on the day and everyone said it was another great event put on by Colchester Half Marathon.

Well done again everyone, and we hope you all got a good rest last night!!!

What a fantastic Christmas party! 🎅✨🕺💃

It was a wonderful night at the Stoke-by-Nayland Resort as we enjoyed a 2-course meal, drinks, and music well into the late hours.

Their function room with bar was the perfect place to celebrate the season with colleagues and other local businesses as we all came together at the end of 2025 and partied.

It’s always special to take time out and enjoy each other’s company, and this year’s party was definitely one to remember.

The Big October Update

It's been a little while since a new post but as usual there has been lots going on at ECC UK & IE!

Just in October alone, this month we've had:
- World Mental Health Appreciation Day
- Our Operations Manager marked their 25th Year at ECC
- Halloween Dress-Up in aid of Essex Air Ambulance

For Mental Health Day we fundraised over £100 for the UK Mental Health Foundation charity, got cake and treats for all staff, and also ran a small raffle for staff.

For the 25th Celebration, cake and buffet lunch were provided for everyone and our Operations Manager was presented with their card and gift to mark the milestone.

For Halloween, for those who wished to, staff dressed up for the day and the best costume received a Perkbox Points prize! A buffet continental breakfast was also provided to all staff.

Summer Party Time! 🌞🎶🎤🕺💃

Our annual gathering took place this year at the fantastic Skylark. where pizza and homegrown Wines were the main order of the day, along with great Cocktails and Ales.

The excellent Electric Ladyland provided the music for the evening, rolling out classic and modern songs alike which everyone enjoyed and really got the teams dancing into the warm summer evening.

Great job Social Team, a night enjoyed by all!

The Multimodal exhibition was recently held at Birmingham NEC and the UK & IE office were in attendance with our custom built event stand once more. Joining us on the day were Pim Ewals and Chiel Daams from our Head Office, there to experience the show and assist the local team with top-level client meetings.

The exhibition is a cornerstone of the UK Logistics scene and represents an excellent networking opportunity with suppliers and potential clients alike. This year saw the stand proudly displaying our newly launched logo and brand style, an evolution of our existing style which has been launched to highlight the growth and development the company has undergone in recent years.

Well done to all the team for the organisation and ex*****on of event attendance, we look forward to seeing the results of the attendee discussions soon!

Another year, another incredible amount raised for The Robin Cancer Trust!

The Colchester Half Marathon and over 3500+ runners have raised a whopping £92,351 for the charity, almost double the previous year.

This money will help continue to fund the invaluable work the RCT does in promoting awareness of the signs and symptoms of Ovarian and Testicular Cancer, both via it's website and in-workplace talks and discussions.

We were honored to once again be able to sponsor the event and to field a mixture of runners from our staff. It's always a great day for the City and the community and to be involved is always a privilege.

It was with great excitement that we recently celebrated the amazing milestone of our Sales & Project Senior Coordinator, Helen, who has now been with us for over 35 years! 🏆

Since starting with the company in 1990, Helen has been with the UK branch of ECC for over 3 decades and as such she possesses a wealth of knowledge of the history of the company, its clients past and current, and of the many people who have and continue to work for ECC across our 29 locations. 🌍

To mark the occasion, a wonderful mix of flowers, gifts, cake, and treats were laid out in our conference room and staff, both old and new, were invited to come and join in the time of celebration.💐🎂

It was a great day yesterday as Colchester Half Marathon 2025 was held again in support of The Robin Cancer Trust and as sponsors of the event it's always good to be able to field some of our staff as runners on the day. 🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

This year saw Emily, Austen, Ben, Liam, Rob, Ross, Dave, George, and Chris take on the 13.1 mile challenge, and whilst all of them completed the race in their own time the most important thing is that they all finished, making them all winners equally! 🏆

The route took them around our historic city, from the bustling center, to out into scenic outskirts, and through the more industrial Colchester Business Park. I'm sure all the runners would agree, its a great way to see historic Colchester city. 🏦🏢

Also on duty was Helen and Michael, handing out flags and chocolates to spectators, helping to get the ECC name out in the community and to make sure runners were given a flag-tastic welcome on the final stretch!

Well done everyone, congratulations! 🥳
