We are delighted to welcome Paul Daglish Business Development Director for Rail at Train'd Up, as an independent judge for the RailStaff Awards 2026! 🏆

With an incredible 37-year career dedicated to the UK rail industry, Paul brings a wealth of expertise spanning Customer Service, Operational Management, and Learning & Development. Having worked as a Train Driver, Trainer, Operations Manager, and Training Manager, his background in competence management, incident investigation, and operational training gives him a deep, first hand understanding of life on the network.

For the past seven years at Train'd Up, Paul has helped deliver high-impact apprenticeship programmes to Train Operators, Freight Operators, and suppliers across the sector—helping the organisation earn recognition as the 2nd most successful large training provider in the UK for two consecutive years.

Paul is deeply committed to championing rail as an attractive, accessible career for a wide and diverse audience. We are honored to have his operational knowledge and passion for workforce development on our panel!

We are delighted to introduce Kirsty (she/her) Derry as an independent judge for the RailStaff Awards 2026!

Kirsty brings 30 years of global business and leadership experience across major sectors, including leadership roles at Network Rail, East Midlands Railway, 2 Sisters Food Group, and Molson Coors. Joining the rail sector in 2015 and Network Rail in 2021, Kirsty serves as People & Transformation Director, where she has led the strategic transformation of industrial relations and is actively supporting the industry’s transition to Great British Railways.

A passionate advocate for skills, training, and inspiring the next generation, Kirsty has chaired the Train Driver Apprenticeship standard since 2017. Her leadership has overseen the launch of the new apprenticeship, unlocking over ÂŁ1 million in levy funds and supporting more than 1,000 active apprenticeships across the sector.

Alongside her day role, Kirsty gives back as a Non-Executive Board Member for NSAR, a mentor for Women in Rail, and a former member of Network Rail’s pension benefits committee. Her deep commitment to workforce transformation, skills development, and inclusion makes her a fantastic asset to our panel. Welcome to the team, Kirsty! 🏆
