The 2 trips abroad that Robert Gray did in 1963 and 1968 for Alloa’s clachan ceilidh were successful good will trips spanning Germany,France,Luxembourg,Belgium. Promoting Scottish talent in the way of music, song and dance. Both vehicles were proudly but subtly emblazoned with thistles and St Andrews saltire 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 which attracted a lot of attention from many foreign locals. Some had to be corrected politely that we were Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and not 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿!!! Anyway,Scotland take part in their 1st World Cup football match since France 1998! Ironically in the same group back then are 2 familiar names from the same last World Cup group-Brazil and Morocco! All I want to say is Good Luck Scotland!! Do your best and give it your all! ⚽️

GGA670 various photos but with some very recent ones with it now residing in California! Yep,A Grayline vehicle in California America not California Falkirk! It was sold at auction last year and is now across the pond. Had more work done to it,both mechanical and cosmetically. And the big news…….i’ll be travelling across to California in August to a motoring festival/motor racing get together where it will be! (The 2026 Rolex reunion motor festival at the Laguna tech raceway.) I haven’t seen this grand vehicle since 1996 up at Lathalmond Scottish vintage bus museum. So I am looking forward to this forthcoming American adventure! The Grayline name is still proudly emblazoned on the front and retained by the current owner as a salute and tribute to the rich transport heritage of this incredible and grand vehicle! Robert Gray? Dad? Take a bow Sir! There’s not many can say they’ve had an impact like this let alone the transport life and legacy you led proudly and relentlessly through thick and thin.
George R Gray.
