Putting our support into steps! Our colleague Roxy recently joined Paul Goldstein for the Bridport to Beer section of his extraordinary 1,000-mile walk in support of 2 Legs for 4.

Paul has long been part of the Steppes Travel family, sharing not only his knowledge and remarkable wildlife experiences with our clients, but also his determination to protect the species and landscapes that make those experiences possible.

That is why we are proud to support his latest challenge. At Steppes Travel, we believe that travelling to see the natural world should go hand in hand with helping to safeguard it. Paul’s walk is raising vital funds for conservation projects that are working to protect wildlife and support the communities living alongside it.

We were delighted that Roxy could swap her desk for the trail and join Paul, his tiger and fellow walkers for a few miles along the Jurassic Coast.

Embrace the cold and discover Uzbekistan's Silk Road cities at their quietest.

Travel from Samarkand to Bukhara and Khiva this December in the company of author Chris Aslan, who spent seven years living in Uzbekistan.

Your route takes in the mosques, mausoleums and madrassahs that have called to travellers for generations, as well as the lives and traditions continuing around them today.

South America is vast; it has a way of making you reassess scale.

It’s rare that we experience that feeling of being very small, but here it can become a daily occurrence. The continent doesn’t reveal itself all at once.

Go beyond the places that first put it on the map and the crowds thin, the horizons widen and entirely different stories emerge.

Sometimes, seeing more simply means looking beyond what brought you there in the first place.

There’s a certain rhythm to safari.

Early mornings out on a game drive. Breakfast in the bush. A few quieter hours back at camp, where watching wildlife from the pool can be every bit as rewarding. Then, as the light begins to soften, sundowners somewhere out in the wild.

Footage from across Illona’s travels in Zambia captures some of the moments that shape a day on safari, both out in the bush and in between.

Because sometimes the moments between sightings are the ones that stay with you.

And he’s off again.

After completing the first half of his 2 Legs for 4 campaign, Paul Goldstein swapped the road for the wilds of southeast Alaska, leading a Steppes group through a landscape of brown bears, whales and remote coastline.

Now, the boots are back on.

Today marks the start of the second half of 2 Legs for 4, as Paul picks up where he left off and continues a challenge driven by the four conservation causes at its heart.

The first leg demanded plenty. We suspect Paul wouldn’t have it any other way.

We’ll be following his progress over the coming days, so keep an eye on our channels for updates from the road.
