Good Evening! We hope that you are enjoying the Summer Break so far. We just wanted to issue a small update regarding Home to School Transport for the next academic year.

🚌 🎫 GR4/GR5 - Dene Magna School - Fare Payers

If you pay for your student to use either of our two services to Dene Magna School, are a current customer and have travelled in the past you will receive a renewal email to purchase a pass for next year within the next 24-48 hours. Included in this email will be information on how you can obtain a pass for a sibling starting in September. If you don’t receive an email from us please contact us at [email protected]

If your child is due to start Dene Magna School in September as a Year 7, is not entitled to free transport and would like to use either our GR4 or GR5 services, tickets will go on sale on Monday 4th August 2026 at 9.00am. Please visit our website to find the links to be able to purchase once the portal is open.

If you are in receipt of free transport, courtesy of Gloucestershire County Council you will receive your pass towards the end of August, in time for the start of the academic year.

As these routes are contracted by Gloucestershire County Council you will receive your pass towards the end of August, in time for the start of the academic year.

🚌🌍 It’s been another busy day at Grindles! 🌍🚌

As if this week wasn’t busy enough already, today we’ve waved off four of our coaches as they begin the journey to Lourdes, France, supporting the Arundel & Brighton Diocese on their annual pilgrimage.

Our coaches collected passengers this afternoon before making their way to Folkestone Services, where the main drivers took over for the journey ahead.

The coaches are now waiting dockside in Dover for their ferry crossing to Calais, before travelling through the night towards Lourdes.

It’s always a privilege to play a small part in such an important annual pilgrimage, and we’d like to wish everyone travelling a safe, comfortable and enjoyable journey.

A huge thank you also goes to all of our drivers and support staff working behind the scenes to make trips like this run smoothly. We hope everyone has a wonderful time, and we look forward to welcoming you all home next week. 🇬🇧⛴️🇫🇷

🎉🚌 Tuesday really was a day that just kept giving! 🚌🎉

A huge congratulations to James Gibbs, who has successfully passed his Category D PCV driving test! 👏

Passing his Category D licence means James is now qualified to drive our coaches and minibuses, and we’re delighted to welcome him to the Grindles driving team.

Gaining a PCV licence is no small achievement. It takes commitment, hard work and plenty of dedication, so James should be incredibly proud of what he’s accomplished.

And as if passing his test wasn’t enough to celebrate… today (Thursday) is James’ 33rd birthday! 🎂🥳

So, from everyone at Grindles, we’d like to wish James a very Happy Birthday and congratulate him on this fantastic milestone. We look forward to seeing him out on the road and wish him every success in his new role.

❄️🚌 Keeping our fleet cool – and investing in the future! 🚌❄️

Tuesday wasn’t just a busy day for our drivers - other members of the Grindles team were also hard at work developing their skills.

Our workshop staff completed Automotive Refrigerant Handling training alongside the delivery of our brand new Texa Konfort 780 Touch Bus Air Conditioning Recharge Station.

This investment means we’ll now be able to service and maintain the air conditioning systems on our coaches in-house, helping us keep our fleet in top condition and ensuring our passengers stay cool and comfortable when the temperatures rise.

As with all areas of our business, we’re committed to investing in the latest equipment and ongoing training for our team. By developing our in-house capabilities, we can continue to deliver the reliable, high-quality service our customers have come to expect.

A big thank you goes to Russell Hornby of Blyth Automotive Solutions blythautomotivesolutions for supplying the equipment and delivering the training. We appreciate your expertise and support.

Whilst many are enjoying a well-earned break, it’s been a busy week behind the scenes as our drivers took part in another round of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training.

At Grindles, we’re passionate about making sure our team has the knowledge and confidence to provide the safest, most reliable and welcoming service possible for our local communities.

This week’s training included:

📝 Tachographs & Manual Entries – A refresher on keeping accurate driving records and manual entries, helping us stay compliant and ensuring drivers’ hours are recorded correctly.

🔍 Walk-Around Checks – Reinforcing the importance of carrying out thorough daily vehicle safety checks, helping to spot any issues before a bus leaves the depot and keeping everyone safe on the road.

♿ PSVAR & Wheelchair Accessibility – Practical training on the Public Service Vehicle Accessibility Regulations, including the correct procedures for safely loading, securing and strapping in wheelchairs, ensuring every passenger can travel with confidence, comfort and dignity.

We firmly believe that learning never stops. That’s why we continue to invest in regular CPD training for all of our drivers throughout the year, keeping them up to date with the latest legislation, best practice and customer service standards.

Our community places its trust in us every day, and we’re proud to invest in our people so we can continue delivering the safe, friendly and dependable service you deserve.
