To celebrate we wanted to give a big THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers that work on our railway. From those who volunteer to maintain the track, clean up leaves and look after the grounds, to those who sell tickets, help in the canteen, keep our facilities clean, manage the stations, drive the locos and everything in-between - all of our volunteers make our club a special place for all to be.

If you have ever wanted to be part of a friendly, welcoming community send us a message or speak to any of our members on your next visit. We always love to welcome new faces! There are no requirements on technical knowledge, our members are more than happy to teach new skills.

We hope to see you all on June 20th for our special visiting locos day featuring locos never seen before at the club! Trains will run from 11am till 4pm, with our wonderful clubhouse open and selling delicious treats. CASH ONLY PLEASE.

We were delighted to welcome our friends from St Peter & St Paul School to our track today! It was a joy to see so many happy faces enjoying the trains for their Well-being Day. 🚂

🚂 What a Fantastic Weekend! 🚂
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the club this weekend. Seeing so many smiling faces and families enjoying the rides is exactly why we do what we do! Whether it was your first visit or you're a regular visitor, we hope you had a wonderful time with us.

We are really grateful for your patience with the longer than usual queues at times, this is something we will keep working on.

We also want to give a massive thank you to our hardworking members who volunteed their time this weekend. From the drivers and platform crew to the ticket office and canteen staff, we know you all will agree, they did a great job!

We have had an amazing with everyone today! AND we are open again tomorrow (10th May) if you missed out!!

Thank you to all our visitors who made today a great success ☺️

Tomorrow we will be running trains again from 10:30am till 4pm on both our railways as well as lots of refreshments from our clubhouse.

Tickets are £1.50 each or 6 for £8 - CASH ONLY.

We can't wait to see you all on the 9th and 10th of May for our first public running weekend of 2026!

Over the Saturday and Sunday we will be running trains on our raised and ground level tracks from 10:30 till 4pm, with our cafe open selling light refreshments and treats!

Ride tickets are £1.50 each or 6 for £8. Please bring CASH.
We hope to see you there!

Invitation for visiting loco's to Chesterfield's CDMES.
Visiting Loco's event - Friday 19th and Saturday 20th June 2026, S41 0EE.

Our railway is open to visitors' locos, on Friday 19th June for a private running day, then for our public running day on Saturday 20th June (Club open for public rides from 11am - 4pm).

At CDMES we have a raised track for 2.5", 3.5" and 5" locos, plus a 5" and 7.25" ground level track. We also have an O gauge and gauge 1 Garden Railway as well as room for Miniature road vehicles.

This is a great opportunity to drive at another club. Both tracks provide a good run, with the ground level being pretty steep for the added challenge.

All steam engines need to have appropriate boiler certification in order to run and all visitors must be members of another club.

Please get in touch soon if you'd like to guarantee a spot for your loco and rolling stock!

On our public open day on Saturday 20th June, our railway is open to visitors locos. With the club open for public rides from 11am - 4pm.
