HGV Technician / Mechanic Required – Staveley, Derbyshire

Richard Lester Transport Ltd is looking for an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic to join our workshop team in Staveley.

We operate a fleet of over 40 trucks and trailers and need someone who takes pride in their work and can help keep our vehicles maintained to a high standard. Scania experience would be an advantage, but we are happy to hear from mechanics who have worked on other makes and models.

Pay & Hours

£23.00 per hour
Overtime paid at time and a half after 45 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm
Every other Saturday, 7:00am – 1:00pm
Alternative hours or shift patterns may be considered for the right person

Main Duties

HGV and LGV inspections, servicing and repairs
Trailer inspections, servicing and repairs
Routine maintenance and preventative repairs
Vehicle and trailer safety inspections
MOT preparation and presentation
Fault finding and diagnostics
Repairs to engines, transmissions, braking and electrical systems
Breakdown support when required
Truck bodywork and fabrication work

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as an HGV Technician / Mechanic
Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Full UK driving licence
Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) licence preferred
Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team

What We Offer

£23.00 per hour

We're looking for an experienced Class 1 Wagon & Drag HIAB driver to join the team based out of Staveley.

This is a genuine opportunity to work for a family run business with over 20 years of experience in the industry. If you take pride in your work, keep your wagon clean and tidy then this could be the role for you.

• Class 1 (C+E) licence required
• HIAB / lorry loader required.
• ADR desirable (training available for the right person)

• Must be comfortable with regular nights out Monday–Friday
