For this Thursday's Throwback we take a jump even further back in time to somepoint in the mid 1950s!

This photo was actually taken at Cockcrow's predecessor railway, the "Greywood Central Railway", specifically at it's small terminus "Greywood North".

The engine seen here, SR V-class 907 "Dulwich" is still in our regular operational fleet to this day.

Although Greywood is sadly long gone, the Great Cockcrow Railway is open every Sunday, from May to October.

Throwback Thursday!

For this week's Throwback Thursday, we have an early photo of Cockcrow Hill station, taken in the summer of 1990.
Among the most noticeable differences is the absence of our Green Lane Loop. Back in those days, all trains terminated at Cockcrow Hill station, where the locomotive ran around the train, just as you can see being done nowadays on our Red Route trains.

The engine seen here, No. 850 "Lord Nelson", is still part of our service fleet to this day.

We are open every Sunday from May until the end of October, from 13:00 to 16:30.

There's no need to pre-book—just turn up and enjoy a miniature heritage mainline experience with us!
