House & Carriage Expert house removals and storage based in Charlbury, Oxfordshire. Our chosen name - House & Carriage.

Once upon a time we had a very simple idea; to offer a smart 'man & van service' to the good folk of Oxfordshire. We quickly became known (for all the right reasons) for offering a professional, competent and friendly service to our clients. Many a good business starts at the kitchen table, in our case in a spare bedroom. Almost overnight we attracted a much bigger audience and we were on our way.

From the outset we have never lost sight of our principles or goals. Our offer has expanded but our USP is still the same, a simple service, honestly priced and well executed.

Every year House & Carriage choose a local charity to support through our annual fundraising efforts. This year, we are supporting SSNAP Charity Oxford and to dedicate our fundraising in honour of Elijah. 💙

SSNAP provide vital care and support to babies and their families during the most challenging times they will ever face.

If you’re packing your own boxes, take a few extra minutes to label them clearly. It can make a huge difference when it comes to unpacking!

Think about:
🏠 Which room does it need to go into?
⚠️ Does it contain fragile items?
💪 Is it particularly heavy?

And if your belongings are going into storage, good labelling is even more important. It’s so easy to forget exactly what you’ve packed away when it’s been out of sight for a while!

A little organisation at the packing stage can save you lots of time and stress later. 🙌

We have moved thousands of families over the last 20 years, so we have built up a number of top tips to help you move home.

💡 Get your quote in early! The house market can move quickly at times and your favourable removals company may book up quickly, especially during the busiest seasons (summer!). As soon as your house is on the market there is no harm in getting in touch for a free quote.

💡 Sort! And be ruthless. Have you used it in the last 6 months? Likely you don’t need it! Downsizing and decluttering will make the unpacking a lot more easier for all.

💡 Pack an essentials box that will last you a few days. Clothes, tea bags, mugs, toilet roll. This can be taken in your car between one house to the next.

💡 Keep entrances clear for the removals team to easily manoeuvre between the rooms to the van.
