I hope you and your families are all safe and well.
I am sorry for being so quiet lately.
Covid-19 has meant a very strange and difficult time for us all. Over the last six months I have been working hard to make sure my clients have been looked after cancelling, rebooking and refunding travel plans affected by the Pandemic.
Unfortunately, I have now had to make the extremely tough decision to close my business at the end of October.

I am handing my business over to colleagues who are also great friends, who I know will continue to look after all your travel needs delivering the Travel Counsellor experience you are used to and love.

Flying in a Pandemic?
I had to weigh up the risks and the benefits of taking my family away this Summer. It has to be a personal choice.
I am glad we chose to travel to Greece, the beautiful island of Corfu.
Wednesday morning at 8am.
We had to queue to check in .. this was because of the need to check all PLF forms now required for Greece. It is one per family and all names must be spelt correctly as on passport.
Security was quiet and hand sanitizer available.
Terminal 5 airside was quiet and most shopping outlets were open but very few restaurants.
Boarding was very well organised PLF forms checked and boarded strictly by seat rows to avoid crowding in the aisle.
Limited inflight service but enough and you can take food & drink on board with you.
Disembarking by seat rows again very well organised.
Corfu immigration quick & efficient and some passengers tested on arrival.

We felt very safe and in lots of ways this was a more relaxed flying experience than normal.

It has to be a personal decision and you have to consider all FCO advice and possible changes to this advice and what this could mean to you but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend travelling now.

We have been advised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) that they are now advising against all but essential travel to the following destinations:

Aruba
France
Malta
Monaco
Netherlands
Turks and Caicos

For anyone currently in the above destinations:

The FCO is not advising those already travelling to leave at this time. UK citizens should follow the advice of the local authorities for the rest of their stay on how best to protect themselves and others from COVID-19.

Those returning from these destinations on or after Saturday 15th August will need to self isolate for 14 days as per government guidelines.

Changes are being made daily, so if you are considering travelling it is essential that you check daily for the latest information.

If you watched “This Morning” today. Simon Calder was on taking multiple calls from individuals who just cannot get answers regarding their future bookings because they have booked online, or are away and have no idea what is happening to their return flights.

Eamonn Holmes finished the segment with these wise words "do you know what, never has it been highlighted more clearly the benefit of booking with a local Travel Agent. Someone you can pick up the phone to and actually have a conversation with someone who knows you and your booking. They used to say it was in the past, but it quite clearly is the future!".

When travelling now, there are lots of new procedures you need to follow.
Your personal Travel Counsellor will advise you of country specific information and any online forms that are required.
When entering back into the UK, this is the online form you need to complete no more than 48 hours prior to your return. Failure to do so will cause delays on your arrival into a UK airport or port!

A few days ago the first flight arrived from the UK in Corfu.
A magnificent Greek water salute welcomed back British tourists to the island. 🇬🇷
It really is amazing to see the world opening up again and the welcome tourists are receiving.
