BDS Fuels

10/08/2026

BDS Fuels were honoured when asked if we would support Sedbergh YFC for their charity Bath Push for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Su***de charity.

Of course, we said a big YES!!!

The YFC members set off from Junction 38 Truckstop approx 7.30am on Sunday 9th August, and walked over 22 miles, with their bath. All in aid of their chosen charity Papyrus.

We let the walkers have a well earned rest/pit stop in our yard which was on the route of the walk.

The walk finished in Kirkby Lonsdale early evening, where we are sure the members enjoyed a refreshing beverage or two.

We are so proud of what you have acheived, and we can't wait to see the final total.

🕰️The Story of the Famous Station Clock at Carnforth Railway Station.

At Carnforth railway station, few features capture the imagination quite like the famous station clock.

For generations, it has been more than a way to tell the time. It became part of British film history through Brief Encounter, helping to turn Carnforth into a place of romance, nostalgia and national cultural significance. Network Rail has itself recognised the station’s association with the film, noting the distinctive platforms and clock that made Carnforth instantly recognisable to audiences.

BDS Fuels are delighted to have supported the restoration. Read more on our website:

Information about the Funding Announced by the Government yesterday, due to the current Market Turmoil.

We wanted to update you on how the funding will work, which was announced yesterday by the government. It wasn’t too clear initially if it applied to the LPG markets, but we can now confirm it does apply.

England: From 1 April – apply to your council's 'Crisis and Resilience Fund'
• The Crisis and Resilience Fund had already been due to replace the existing Household Support Fund from this date. But the Government has now committed a total of £27 million via this scheme to be made available to support low-income families in England using oil heating. Here's what we know...
• Each local authority will determine its own eligibility criteria. Some local authorities may proactively target particular households or groups to make them aware of the support available, but you don't need to wait for this.
• Households using any type of domestic fuel for heating, cooking or lighting can apply. This includes those using LPG, for example.
• Local authorities will determine how much support you can get. However, the Government says it should be enough for you to top-up your heating oil to ensure you don't lose access to your heating and hot water.
• Each council should have a dedicated webpage where you can apply.
• Successful applicants should receive funds within 48 hours of applying.
• This funding is due to end on 31 March 2027.

Scotland: There are no details yet on how the funding will be distributed in Scotland.
• A spokesperson for the Scottish Government said it "will swiftly analyse the specifics" and will "work at pace to assess how it would be best distributed". It added that it will set out the details of this "soon".

We love supporting local sporting groups such as Kirkby Stephen Hockey Club, even more so if there is a family connection. We hope the bottles are useful for the children 🥰
