Irving of Dalston Limited Established in June 1971, we are a local family-run coach and minibus hire firm based in Dalston. Winner of Coach Company of the Year for Cumbria 2025/26

We operate 7 coaches ranging from 48 to 70 seats. We can provide private hire transport for any occasion – weddings, excursions and tours, school trips and regular contracts. For over 40 years we have transported school children to and from local schools, colleges and on swimming contracts. In addition to this, we have a registered coach service taking children to Caldew School which is a private

run rather than through the School Transport Department. This runs via Newtown Road, Belle Vue, Sandsfield Park, Morton Park and into Caldew School. We also run registered services to Nelson Thomlinson School, Wigton which run from The Market, Wigton Road, Dalston, Dobbies and Thursby. The second route is from Burgh By Sands, Thurstonfield and Great Orton. Please contact us if you are interested in allocating a seat to your child. Again, please see our website for the timetables. We have a regular contract with Opera Bingo in Denton Holme, Carlisle running from Penrith and Wigton. The timetables for the all services are on our notes page. Due to an accident currently blocking the road, we are unable to access the usual drop-off points at Moorhouse Road and Belle Vue.

🚨 ALL CHILDREN FOR MOORHOUSE ROAD & BELLE VUE MUST BE COLLECTED FROM THE HOSPITAL. 🚨

PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO COLLECT YOUR CHILD FROM THE HOSPITAL.

We would like to remind all parents and children that abusive, threatening, or disrespectful behaviour towards our office staff or drivers will not be accepted.

Our staff and drivers are here to provide a safe and professional service, and they deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect at all times. Any concerns or complaints should be raised calmly and through the appropriate channels so that they can be addressed appropriately.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in maintaining a respectful and positive environment for our staff, drivers, parents, and children.

Comets is a fun, recreational and inclusive football programme for children with a broad range of impairments and health conditions.
Whether your child is new to football or already loves the game, everyone is welcome 🙌

Comets is a recreational, pan-disability football programme for disabled children aged between five and 11. Pan-disability is the largest format of disability football, bringing together players with a broad range of impairments and health conditions to play together.

The sessions offer a flexible and inclusive way of playing football, with a focus on playfulness, friendships and having fun.

More than anything, Comets is football that breaks the old rules and replaces them with a brand new one: JUST BE YOU.⚫️🔴⚽️

We note a number of parents have still not purchased tickets, despite the deadline of 26th August now having passed.

As explained in our recent email, NO TICKET, NO TRAVEL. All children must have a valid ticket in order to travel on the coach, as this is required for insurance purposes.

Please ensure that your child has a valid ticket before attempting to board the coach tomorrow morning. If your child has a staggered start to the school term, please ensure that you have purchased a ticket for the specific day they will be travelling.

If you have already purchased your child’s ticket, please disregard this reminder.
