Virtuosa Day 2 - La Rochelle.
Joined Q for disembark….(getting off) Shuttle buses into town. Lovely old city with usual French bars and restaurants around old harbour. David couldn’t walk too far but he got his French Fix! Worth a look if you are in the area. Fortifications back to Templars in 13th century. Nice bit of beach close by.
Back on ship and entertained this evening by various staff including men in hats during dinner, a robot mixing a VERY strong drink after dinner and a theatre show base on A Paris night out ????
Trying to keep David awake long enough for the 60s and 70s music session later. Having a ball 🍸😬

Now probably NOT what you would expect for an entertaining cruise day, but after a morning ashore (more later) I have had the most entertaining afternoon watching the comings and goings in the port, both of passengers and commercial enterprise. Is the white stuff being off loaded on the ship opposite, salt or co***ne? What happens to the drivers that go the wrong way and disappear?😱.
Is there a T-Rex in the hold and if not what is the awful screaming noise?
And how many passengers will miss the last bus back from La Rochelle? Ordered some wine and crisps while I watched and got wine and a plate of chips instead. No complaints

I managed to visit three fabulous cruise ships last weekend. P&O's Iona, MSC's Virtuosa and Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas.
It was a wonderful opportunity to compare three totally different ships offering great family holidays and all sailing from Southampton this year. If you want to know more give me a call on 01223 513914.

CHECK YOUR VACCINATION DATES! 💉
News today from the Spanish Government with changes to their vaccination requirements. ( just in case you were hoping to go there soon!)
Visitors from the UK with vaccination certificates older than 270 days will only be considered fully vaccinated if they have had a booster more than 14 days before travel.
So, check the dates of your certificates carefully, especially if you haven't yet had a booster.
