📢 Some big news to share. We've been shortlisted in three categories at this year's Logistics UK Awards:

Most Innovative Company of the Year
Road Transport Operator of the Year
Logistics Leader of the Year, for our Managing Director Chris Welch

The Logistics UK Awards are judged by the industry, for the industry, and this year is their tenth. To be named in three categories at once is a real vote of confidence in the business, and in the people who make it work. Our drivers, planners, warehouse teams, crane operators and engineers put the graft in every day, and this recognition is theirs.

We started in 1934 with one lorry. Four generations later we're still here, still family run, and still trying to make this bit of the world as good as it can be.

The winners are announced on 10 December at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London. Fingers crossed, and thank you to every customer who has backed us along the way.

Last Friday, we took delivery the newest member of our historical fleet.

This Bedford Tractor Unit was originally new to Welch Group towards the end of the 1960's, and will be going into our restoration workshop for a full make-over, back to it's original livery. Thankfully, this one is already in good shape, so should be a quick turnaround!

This will be a great addition to our Historical Centre, which is due for completion soon.

Thank you to our Specialist Movements department for safely transporting this amazing find back to Duxford for us.

A brilliant afternoon at Foxton Bowls Club on Saturday for our Long Service Day.

We got together to celebrate 33 members of the team who have each been with us for more than ten years, that is one in five of our people, and that is before you count the Welch family.

Foxton means a lot to us. It was home to Gordon Welch and the site of our very first depot, so there was no better spot for it. Good weather, good company, and a few people discovering they are better at bowls than they expected.

Thank you to everyone who came along with their families, and thank you to all 33 for the years you have given us.

Trusted for generations.

What a day at The Links Golf Club, Newmarket! ⛳

Last Friday we welcomed customers and suppliers to the Welch Group Golf Day 2026, and the sun (mostly) played along.

Well done to Metro Supply Chain for winning the Team event, and a special mention for Jimmy from MM Packaging, who swept both Closest to the Pin AND Longest Drive. 🏆

🏆 THREE in a row! 🏆

What a night in Edinburgh! On Saturday 27th June, Welch Group won the Environmental and Social Impact Award at the Palletline Ignite Awards 2026, and it's the third year running we've brought this one home.

Our MD Chris Welch was there to collect the award, and as you can see from the photos, it's already made itself at home in the wildflower meadow at our Duxford site. It felt like the right spot for it! 🌼

A huge thank you to every single member of the Welch Group family who makes this possible. From our electric trucks out on the road to the work we do in our local communities, this award is down to all of you.

Sneak peek! 👀🔋

Our newest electric truck, a Renault Trucks UK E-Tech, is in the workshop right now getting its Welch Group wrap.

This is EV number five for us, and our third E-Tech. Quieter, cleaner and kinder to the communities we deliver to every day.

We can't wait to show you the finished truck. Keep your eyes peeled, it'll be out on the roads around Cambridgeshire very soon!

Meet the newest member of the Welch family! 👋

Rhiannon Welch is learning the business from the ground up, working her way through each part of the operation unit by unit. After a couple of months on the forklifts in the yard, she has spent this week in the warehouse learning to operate our Aisle Master.

The plan is simple: learn every part of the business, properly, by doing it. It is how this family has run things since 1934, and it is great to see the next generation getting stuck in.

Welcome to the team, Rhiannon. We think you are going to go far. 💙

Something a little different is taking shape at Duxford and this week, it's really starting to look the part. 🏗️

The steel is going up on our new Historical Centre, and we couldn't be prouder to watch it rise. (It's certainly handy having your own crane for the job! 😄)

It's been quite a year... canopy extensions, electric lorries, and new megawatt charging hubs at both Bedford and Duxford, all part of driving Welch Group forward. But this latest project is one that's especially close to home.

We're building a home for the stories, the vehicles and the memories that have made us who we are since 1934.

And the centrepiece? A lovingly restored truck from every single decade of the business — nine of them, side by side. From the early days right through to today. 🚛

Four generations of family. Decades of hard work on the road. It all deserves a place to be remembered and shared.

Watch this space. We think you're going to love it. 💙
