Red Wing was in with us this week for her Early Bird haul out package : haul out, washdown, antifoul and relaunch, along with the complimentary prop anode and prop polish.

While she was ashore, the owner asked us to take care of a few additional jobs: hull‑side cut and polish, transom UV bloom correction, timber strip preparation and oiling, application of Silic One prop guard system, and fresh anodes throughout. She's now ready to go back in looking great and well protected for the season ahead.

The Early Bird offer is still open for winter bookings. Book your haul out, wash-down, antifoul & relaunch and receive a free prop anode and prop polish. Work must be completed by 1st March 2026.

With temperatures dropping to –10°C in Bala this week and ice warnings now in place across Gwynedd, our team has been out on the moorings carrying out our winter rounds. Conditions like this put real pressure on boats, especially where winterisation wasn’t fully completed.

When the cold hits this hard, any standing water left in an engine’s cooling system or around seacocks can behave like a ticking time bomb. Expansion from freezing water is one of the most common causes of winter damage - and one of the easiest to prevent with timely, professional work.

This week at ATB, Bluenose was hauled in and the jobs lined up one by one:

✅ Window fitted
✅ Chain plates resealed
✅ Keels ground back
✅ Hull anti-fouled
✅ Anodes fitted
✅ Leaks addressed

We also headed down to Slate Quay for lift‑out day. It was a wet, cold, stormy morning, but that didn’t stop us catching up with customers and seeing the boats come ashore. In the middle of it all, we helped a gent get his engine running again after a flat battery left him stuck.
