Harley and Us on Tour

So we finished the Cotswold tour at the only place we could with a birthday meal at The Farmer's Dog Pub with good friends. The pub has plenty of parking for camper vans/motorhomes and of course is dog friendly. I even got a birthday card signed by the man himself. We had made our reservation on the 1st Feb for today, we were seated in The Farmers Clubhouse. Food was good and service quick. If you are planning on visiting book for the restaurant, bookings open on the 1st of the month for the following month. You can try and get a table on the day but it’s not guaranteed.

Harleys been on another mini tour this time to the beautiful Cotswolds, where we visited Stow on the Wold and beautiful Bourton on the Water. They still have red telephone boxes in use and Doggy ice-cream. Harley was in his element in the dog shop so many smells and treats. He met so many people all wanting to say hello. The Cotswolds is so dog friendly. We visited the oldest Inn in England The Porch House dating back to 947AD. The weather was kind which was a added bonus. We had free parking in Stow on the Wold and day parking in Bourton was £3.00 all day at the RBL Branch with the parking money going to the Poppy Appeal.

Harley has gone away on his first boys trip touring York Scarborough and Whitby. The weather apparently is not pawfect but at least today it’s dry. The things those boys get up to!

Another day out for Harley, this time inland and to the Cathedral city of Ely. 4 hours car parking near the city centre is the grand sum of zero! Yes 4 hours parking in the short stay parking a short walk from the city centre for free. There’s lots of coffee shops and eateries.

When it’s freezing outside only one thing to do….. plan the next tour….. we are off to the Balkans. Harley has his titer test so he’s all set to visit those places not in the EU and we can do the schengen shuffle. Countdown has begun!! Dover to Calais ferry with P&O, first night could be Bergues free Aire or Luxembourg, then onto Sulzemoos near Munich before passing through Austria and onto Slovenia where the adventure will truly begin.

“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page." – St. Augustine. Let 2026 be the year to turn the pages. Durring 2025 we turned the pages, we visited some beautiful places and met some lovely people.

For us our pages for 2026 is been written, we are planning our travels to Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro for the first part of the year the. Towards the end we will be heading to Spain again and possibly Morocco, and in between touring the UK.
