🚨 Distraction Theft Warning - Bromsgrove 🚨
We are investigating a distraction theft that took place on College Road, Bromsgrove, on the evening of 24 August 2026.
The victim was approached by a male, who exited from a dark coloured car and asked for directions. During the conversation, the man offered the victim a piece of jewellery and, whilst distracting them, they removed a gold necklace from the victim. He then left the area in the vehicle with a second man who remained inside the car.
We are also aware of a separate incident in Bromsgrove where a woman has approached a member of the public asking for directions to Sanders Park, Then left the area in the wrong direction from the given route. No crime was reported and nothing was stolen, however it highlights the need to remain vigilant when approached unexpectedly by strangers.

Their aim is to distract victims and create opportunities to steal valuables such as jewellery, watches, wallets, purses, and mobile phones.
✅ Protect yourself • Keep a safe distance from strangers • Be aware of your surroundings • Avoid displaying valuables • Do not allow people you don't know into your personal space • Trust your instincts and move away if something doesn't feel right
