Good luck to Bristol Airport firefighter Lexi Grant, who is taking part in a 9/11 memorial stair climb tomorrow, Saturday 5 September, in America.

Marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Lexi has been chosen as one of 343 firefighters to climb the equivalent of the 110 floors of the Twin Towers, in honour of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on 11 September 2001.

Taking on the challenge in full fire kit, which weighs over 10kg, Lexi will continually walk up and down stairs in the Atlanta Braves stadium in Atlanta, Georgia in hot and humid conditions.

The Terry Farrell Memorial Stair Climb, named after the veteran and highly decorated firefighter who served during the attack, unites fire fighters around the world as a mark of solidarity.

⛔EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE – A38 – NEW ROAD, CHURCHILL⛔

Please be advised that the A38 New Road, Churchill is currently closed due to a dangerous fallen tree obstructing the highway.

🌳Tree surgeons are currently on site working to safely remove the tree and make the area safe.

🛣️The road is expected to reopen at approximately 9:00pm, subject to the safe completion of the works.

⚠️Please avoid the area where possible and allow extra time for your journey while the incident is being dealt with

📲We will provide further updates if there are any changes to the situation.
